With the October Update, Zois can have longer conversations as requested. So if you click “ask what career they have,” Zois will do 1 interactions + 3 “small talks” interactions.
I do NOT like this, it takes FOREVER to fill up the person Zoi card. What Traits, goals, single, career (4 mains ones I asked), etc etc. Each interactions comes with 3 extra ones. So 4×4= 16 total interactions queue instead of 4 in total.
Does anyone else prefer this new update? Or is it just me? I would honestly prefer if small talks was removed
I have a bunch of complaints about the new conversation system, but mechanically, I’m not sure which parts they pertain to. My Zois now like to walk off the lot to have a conversation, which is neat, but it’s with a completely random Zoi or object. If they’re going to meet up with another Zoi, there should be an intermediate step where they get a text or call and set that up, rather than just walking across the street to meet a Zoi they didn’t know was around.
A lot of the new interactions seem more nosy than before—for example, if I have a queue of tasks for a Zoi to do, they’ll get interrupted to sit down and have a conversation. Again, I don’t hate the feature, but it feels more intrusive than it should be.
It’s felt like it takes too many actions in general to build relationships, but this isn’t new to the 0.4 patch—it’s been that way. Especially now that they’ve moved to 48 minutes per day by default, I guess they don’t want your Zoi to ever make that many friends?
The stupid cat. First, a relationship shouldn’t have to be manually chosen every time my Zoi says four words to someone. I’m trying to catch a whale shark and I wish I could use this stupid cat that pops up as bait. Again, I don’t fully mind this feature because it seems to prevent Zois from doing too many stupid interactions—like falling in love with random people during conversations—and lets you manually select the next level if you want. But it’s also a pain to have this stupid cat pop up constantly telling me to select a new relationship. I feel like most of that should be automatic, but I also like that I don’t have to babysit as many interactions to prevent accidental flirting that could wreck a relationship, like in other games.
I’ve mentioned the sitting problem when talking in other post. Hope it gets fix with the multi tasking being added in.
But yes, the stages of friends to romance is indeed interesting. I also found it slightlyyyy annoying there is a constant reminder, especially when I want to leave one Zoi to have a crush on them, but yet never proceed to a full blown relationship because my Zoi is actually married and have someone else, (good for story cheating plot). I do sometimes forget to boost the relationship in other scenarios, so I hate and love the reminder.
I understand why ‘small talk’ is there and don’t mind it in itself, but it should be automatically cancelled out if there’s another conversation action in the queue - the same way one movement action automatically cancels another. And yes, that tiresome cat really needs to stop nagging us to choose a relationship. Another minor annoyance is that if you lose any amount of relationship score while on the highest level (BFF or whatever), it automatically downgrades the relationship.
Oh an automatic cancel, that works too. But honestly, one interaction does take up enough time. I mean who else talks to a Zoi and ask them one question ONLY? I would queue up a few. Ask about their day, hobbies, talk about recent news and THEN do something else. Idk… just my thought
I have the same observation. I find it both good that the ZOi are seeking more interaction with each other than before, but at the same time, I spend my time deleting actions in the queue, so I don’t enjoy the game…
With the 48-hour change, they said that the Zoi would adapt better to the time of day, but when I tell my Zoi to go to the toilet and fill up its needs bar, it ends up going back to toilett automatically even when it doesn’t need to…
For short dialogues, it’s only annoying because it adds to these problems. I don’t find it problematic in itself. I think there’s a mod that actually fixes it.
