For me it somehow doesn’t and I wonder if I accidentially turned it off somehow?
It happened automatically and there was this icon on the right side but I don’t see that anymore either ö.ö
How can I get the translations back?

It seems like it doesn’t work, at least it doesn’t work for me either (although it has never really worked well anyway). What I do is use Google Translate: right-click on a page and translate, and that way it translates the entire page for me.
It never did translate, I’m surprised it exists 
I just ignore anything what’s written non English.
Well, I like to find out everything that everyone thinks or contributes, no matter what language they express themselves in. Otherwise you can miss contributions, advice, or even very interesting help. But since you won’t read what I write, I’ll refrain from answering or giving my opinion on your interventions, even so I won’t stop reading them.

I have never used the built-in translator of the forum. I have a Yandex browser, it can translate text into any language with a click of a button, and it also translates what is written in the pictures. A very convenient feature.

But does/did the forum translation work for you?
Could you activate/deactivate it?
I’m quite sure it worked for me since there had been that icon at the far right I could click on, but now it’s not there anymore and nothing gets translated either.
No, translation in forums, by default, is not working for me either.
Edit: I remember the icon too, but did not notice that it is now gone.

And to answer the OP’s question: No, no the forum does not auto-translate or give the option.
I am using Google translate whenever applicable and I feel like it

I write in English, translating the text from Italian before posting.
I then translate the pages into Italian using Chrome’s translation function.
The three dots at the top right and then Translate

We’ve resolved an issue where the forum’s automatic translation feature was not functioning correctly.
Newly posted content should now display properly with translated text. For comments or threads created during the period of the error, translations will be applied gradually, so the translation button may not appear right away.
