I have posted many guides already on the forum here and most of the times the automatic translations have been more or less ok. Of course I don’t know for all of the languages if all is perfectly translated but at least the format was kept and for the languages for which I am able to judge, it was Ok.
Now after posting my latest guide for Business Progression written in English the translation is completely broken. For the Portuguese version there are yellow stars only and for the Russian translation it is a mix of French and English (where does the French part even come from and why?). For German it is tranlated in a very bad German and for some other translations it is only translated partly. This makes it impossible for some of the forum members to read and understand the guide which is a pitty as I spent more than a week to gather all the information together for this guide.
It does not seem to be an issue with the guide itself. If I put the link into google translator I get a very decent translation. So this must be an issue with the forum translation feature. Please fix!
Mine is in Russian, and as @EllaEstella said, a wild mix of English and French… And French also has bits of English popping up. Only when I switch to English does everything go back to normal.
This is really annoying… I really spent so much time to get all the info together and now this… half of the forum probably not able to read it if they don’t speak English.
And I always thought it is better to write directly in English here in forum as this would trigger less translation bugs even if the language then is sometimes not perfect. But no…
Yeah, Portuguese has reached a truly “stellar” level
I’m confident they’ll fix it. Especially if (I can’t check this, and probably you can’t either) the incorrect translation also appears in Korean. The developers will definitely notice that something’s wrong in that case.
Most importantly, I think the language you’re writing in should match the one currently selected for the forum’s interface. That is, if I’m writing in English, but the forum is set to some other language for me, the chances that the translation won’t work will be higher.
@mialuce66 just checked the Italian version. Still quite mixed with English though. But at least the Italian parts are does not seem as bad in terms of language e.g. compared to German where it’s translated so literally that it sounds completely weird.
In Spanish your tutorial is also good @EllaEstella, but in the other message I read nickolai 8 hours ago in Spanish fine, but his answer from three hours ago the forum doesn’t translate it, it always comes out in English.
I often forget to put the language thing before sending messages, but I always browse with the browser translator activated.
@mialuce66 I just checked. I see the translation to Italian differently, much more English / Italian mix than in your version. Your’s is really purely Italian.
I normally never use the forum in other languages than English (until today…) as I thought that writing directly in English would rather avoid such things. Therefore I started writing directly in English since I joined here. In most of the cases the translation from and to English works best but not always as it seems…
See screenshot. What I did now to get the Italian version is to switch the language above in the forum (see marked). Is it what you mean with automatic translation?
Good morning; @mialuce66 normally the forum’s translation is the one that’s applied first, yes, the browser’s is just in case the forum doesn’t translate something, the browser does it, but what I meant to say is that if we all used the browser’s tool we wouldn’t need anything else.
If something’s wrong with you @EllaEstella will fix it, that thing about translating first with AI or Google Translate, I used to do that before but not anymore, for me it was a lot of work and on top of that AI and Google translate things the way they want, they interpret it for me, I think this one is better, I don’t know.
