Either create a baby via computer, or make one with the opposite gender… or adopt a Toddler.
For reference, I’ve been playing with 8 member families since before 0.2.0, so it is fair to say I have lots of experience with family gameplay in general.
Caring for toddlers has become a serious issue, I think this problem was present in earlier version (At least from 0.2.0-onwards), but it feels far worse since 0.4.0-era hit. Basically toddlers will keep asking for things over and over again, even if they were already served. For example, you will feed it a formula and they will ask for another one in mere minutes. They will also asked to be wiped and other interaction over and over again. It’s to a point where my zoi will run out of energy, cannot properly eat because of the constant interruptions (I’ve hinted to this issue in the wishlist part of the forum). And this is with ONE toddler (they stay toddlers for 6 days so technically you could have 3 of them for a day and 2 for multiple days.
Now it never was this bad, the amount of diapers/bottles speak for themselves on that issue.
They used to demand food and diaper change, then would leave you alone for a while. You might get bothered again later to “tuck them in” by “hugging them warmly” but they’d sleep for a while.
Which brings me to my second point :
Taking care of a single toddler with the above condition makes my zoi dead tired by 11am, with critical energy as well. I get that caring for toddler is a demanding job in itself, but does it really need to drain the sleep bar and energy bar THIS much ? Maybe the actions taken to take care of them needs to be re-evaluated so they are not so draining. I do not want you to remove the cost, it definitely should be draining… But maybe make it so you can at least stay up for 14 hours taking care of the little one before collapsing from exhaustion frm both sleep/energy by 11am/1pm.
I would certainly have trouble with a family of 4 toddlers if one is all it takes to cause this issue.
Thanks you for looking into this.
I noticed it too. I wasn’t playing with my families anymore while waiting for the December update, but I did play last night. The mother and the two older children were eating breakfast and each got up a couple of times to interact with the two little ones.
They also didn’t come back to finish their food but tried to prepare more food. I managed to block them, but it’s stressful
Same here - I’ve also noticed that they’ll autonomously fill their nappy (diaper) with a full Bathroom bar. You can cancel the ‘ask for’ interactions, and I manage OK by keeping the toddlers busy with toys etc., but they do need a good deal of improvement. Hopefully this will be tweaked in the December update as I do know they’re working on toddlers.
i made a bug report about this a few weeks ago. i made a new save since i had random objects around cahaya and haven’t had a kid on it yet since everything is so buggy, havent been playing much so i don’t know if its fixed or attempted to be. but my solution was to get the toddler up to full stats then use the cheat to freeze their needs. they stop being a pain in the butt then and go back to being like they were in prior patches.
Hello everyone (@here),
Apologies for the trouble caused by the need-related bug - we know it can be frustrating.
We’re currently looking into it. Will share any updates in this thread.
Thank you!
I’m also having this issue. My Zoi parents are stuck smelling their baby. They cancel and refuse interactions just to check their baby. I’ll have to forcefully cancel the interactions so they can take care of themselves. I’ve never seen that in the game before till recent update. Now I’m worried about my other households having a baby again for now
Ah the smell the baby one is the Newborn additions from the xmas patch.
There’s 2 or 3 new ones that trigger and the smelling is one of those.
Newborn are far less annoying than toddlers, but it means that with a ‘busy mother’ you can now have 2-3 toddlers AND a newborn, making 4 of them asking for stuff for a day and regularly 3 (newborn + 2 toddlers).
Yeah, I had to stop playing because of the constant wipe body. I did the setAllNeedsFull cheat on the toddler and they still cry to be wiped. I cued 7 interactions for the mom, they all go away and she goes to wipes the baby.
Also, I tried hiring a 24hour babysitter to take care of the baby. Mom or dad will take the baby from them to wipe body.

The problem with having babies and toddlers has gotten much worse.
This mother cannot eat. She starts to feed herself, an interaction with one of her children appears, and she puts the food in her bag. Even if I make her take it out, the issue repeats in a loop.
To understand how many times this has happened, see all the food she has put in her bag and left there while I wasn’t controlling her.
Since your post addresses the issue of infants and toddlers disrupting their mothers while eating, and this issue already has an existing thread, I will merge your post into that thread so you can easily track the discussion.
Thank you for your understanding .
Amen to that. And that their needs are overvriting the current ones. My zoi cannot eat or read a book because it srops everything and runs to wipe a child for 50th time…
And while they work on that maybe they should fix the nanny.
It wouldn’t be as bad (though still annoying) if the “disturbed” zois would resume the previous action instead of just forgetting it. Also adding the action to a queue after the current one / prioritizing zois with no action (or the shortest one) first would help. Obviously if everyone is sleeping, then the least tired zoi should wake up first.
Yes, your suggestions would be a big help for this ongoing bug. I hate re-queuing the actions (if I can remember them). Also the Zoi who cares for the baby / toddler should really be chosen differently, e.g. like the one with the shortest queue you suggested. In my game, even though queues mostly aren’t exceeding 2-3 actions per Zoi, it seems like the game has prioritized one particular Zoi as “caregiver”. All the others rarely help with that. Maybe once every two days.
I’m tolerating playing the game so I can get the days down to age the toddlers up faster. This bug is driving me to insanity. The babies were never this worse that they’ll force parents to wake up from bed and stop queued actions. I’ll have to make sure my household and my extended households are not starving or losing sleep due to these toddlers.
A problem with needs wasn’t just at children and toddlers. The “hunger” scale dropped due to the bug in adults as well.
It’s just that toddlers demand food after hunger drops to 75%. Although at toddlers, in principle, none of needs actually decreases below 50%. In fact, babies in inZOI are immortal (every parent’s dream XD)))
But I’ve long been related to the idea that while inZOI is in development and in Early Access, everything will work with errors.
So we have 2 options: or to wait for the full release, and not to play currently. Or switch on a cheat code to freeze all needs of all Zois in family. And after the last decision, I fell in love with this game all over again! Hallelujah!
Another life hack. If you don’t want the baby to ask for food, force him to sleep. Fill in all 7 cells in the action queue with sleep. Newborns and toddlers are immortal
