(no mods, fully updated, old save)
I have always turned autonomy off. For each Zoi individually and in the settings.
Here is a screenshot from the evening before:
Then I moved Jack, Jeb and Ji Ho back to their house, autonomy was still off for all of them.
When they woke up, autonomy was turned on for Jack.
I turned it back off for him again, took a funny screenshot, and then it was turned on for Ji Ho and Jeb -.-
Just a little later, when they had breakfast, autonomy was turned on for all of them

Hello again and again and again xD
I know that this issue bugged me during the first weeks after release in March. I changed my playstyle and didn’t need autonomy off anymore afterwards.
Right now I used my second oldest save file (from back in March) and tried to reproduce your bug as follows:
- went to the settings & turned autonomy off
- manually turned autonomy off for each of my 3 Zois
- played with them for 24h in-game (no issues detected)
- switched to a different family in the save file (autonomy was on for them)
→ Issue: the game doesn’t cancel autonomy for existing Zois if you change it in the settings
- switched for 24h in-game hours between various families
- when I returned to the auto-off ones, they were all still not doing anything without my permission → even stood in the same place where I had left them (half-dead =D)
Temporary conclusion: This bug doesn’t exist because your file is “old”, we still can’t rule out that it might be an implementation issue with any of the hotfixes or - more likely - with any of the major updates.
Would you mind uploading your save file here, so I can see if it’s doing the same when I open it?
P.S. - Here’s the evidence that my Zois stuck to my permissions. She didn’t have a good day =)

I know it’s super weird.
I played with that household today and it didn’t happen. I can’t reproduce it myself.
Same with the inventory that gets deleted from time to time for some of my Zois and for others not.
It’s so frustrating seeing this happen over and over again without being able to find out why it happens, thus being unable to reproduce it to find a way to fix it.

Your inventory gets deleted? Wow, that’s messed up. I didn’t know that could happen. Really frustrating =(
