some ideas about life choices and how a zoi will live their life

i saw the update post thing saying that people want control over anything, especially pregnancies and stuff, well, i wouldn’t like this, instead i would like if its balanced and if theres things like pregnancy control with a slight chance to fail, and if you do it without, you’re “risking” (or wanting) a pregnancy which has a bigger chance to appear

i think there should be a toggle in the settings whether these kinda things can happen autonomously and without the players manual choice or if they happen by surprise outside of the players control

additionally i’d like if the zoi could decide based on their traits and life conditions that they want a change in career, and for teenagers suddenly deciding to drop out of school or even plan ahead their career and decide to give extra effort cause they already know they want to go on a university (and become a doctor, scientist or whatever career requiring a university degree) or trying out new hobbies and stuff like this, which would also be toggable to happen either with players control only or without the players control

BINGO!
Perfect solution !
.

This would add so much to the gameplay too. Traits and personality should impact this. And outlaw may have more chance to dropout than a Sentinel or an Achiever (Go-Getter).

yes!! i think zois should also have something like a IQ which is a invisible stat, which decides wether the zoi will do good in school/career, social things etc or not, not every zoi should be able to live the same life, and the traits also affect the outcome how they gonna live their life and how successful they will be in whatever they choose (for example a creative sim would do better in creative careers than other type of careers, but it will also be influenced by the IQ and the quality of life they have (maybe something like poor/rich influence?)

I dont agree with the IQ thing tho. I like picking career paths for my zois.
I do not mind their trait affecting it as this is something I can control to a degree but if you add an IQ thing in the lot it stats being heavy and annoying.

But if we put them in menu options, then I don’t care as everyone can make the game as difficult as they want that way.

yea everything would be optional, idk if the iq would be even doable, i’d just love if not every zoi has the same chances in life and unexpected turns could happen, or maybe it could be something thats chooseable in the caz, i play a rpg thing called crusader kings and there you pick stats like this which will also give your character traits (positive and negative depending on the stats ((i think))) which will decide heavily on your success, but like, you chose those stats yourself and the possible outcome lol, you can even make a unkillable king and put every stat on max and get the most easiest and non-challening gameplay cuz your king is gonna tenfold all the enemies and conquer all the lands- yea

this is how it looks like and i think something like this can fit into inzoi well, especially if you do storytelling, with of course, different kind of stats which would fit into the modern world and careers lol

From my point of view, many players who want full control over major changes (just like me) only want this kind of control over their own Zois / the families they’re playing per save file. For example, in The Sims 4 you automatically (while playing) label families as “player families”. This makes it obvious to the game that these specific families shouldn’t get pregnant without you playing them, while other Sims in the world definitely can do so, as long as they’re not labled as “yours”.
To add more options, of course devs should include choosing the option you guys mentioned. Adding an option in the settings that let’s you switch between “player Zois can OR Can’t do sth on their own”. I think this would be very suitable for all players and I hope we’ll get something like it soon

yea im talking about player zois, id assume that zois we dont play are eligible of any choice they make anyways, like the neighbourhood stories feature in sims 4 (in better and balanced tho) , would be pretty boring otherwise if the town just stays the same in any save and were the only one moving on in life

I think making it optional would be the best thing.

My families have all had 2 to 3 children born spontaneously in addition to the two I had decided to have them have and you think it’s complicated: I have a family with two children, two toddlers and a newborn, it’s a madness of diapers and bottles  .

yea obviously thats a bit much, i think thats more of a balancing issue rather than autonoumous-or-not, people probably wouldnt mind autonomy if it means realism instead of giving birth to a kindergarten
