Game autonomously assigned a career for my Zoi even though autonomy is turned off -.-

(old save/no mods/fully updated)

After 800+ hours it just happened for the first time that the game assigns a career to one of my Zois.

I reloaded a save from before and it does not happen when I actively play the Zoi.

Can this please not happen?
I want to play the game myself and make such decisions of my own - I don’t want the game to make these decisions for me, therefore I turned autonomy OFF.

The message from the fire station is from 8AM, when I actively play the household, it does not happen. I added screenshots from an older save from before and after 8Am.

Happened in my saves a few times too. Not with every zoi though. Haven’t figured out how the game chooses this.

Yes, as of Cahaya (I think ?) non-played household will have their member get jobs.
I even had one family have someone apply for the police career (which is a modded career you can put in your game).

I guess they did that to prevent non-played families of going broke, since the welfare money now stops once you cashed in your first check (I think… It’s either one or 3, they changed it a few times)

I so wish there were an option to play the game just how I want to, without the fear of what might be messed up this time again when I start the game -.-
What is the autonomy option even good for if the game decides everything anyway?

When I did my rant post about inzoi “Leading you by the nose”, this is exactly the kind of thing I was referring to.
(I think it was on discord, but no matter). It’s good to have little scheduled options, especially since we can turn those off if we want to now, on a zoi to zoi basis no less, which is perfect !.

But it’s quite another when you have no control anymore and the story starts playing for you and you.
We’re slowly crossing that threshold IMHO, with great applaud from a not so tiny portion of the playerbase.

I think this is because the discord members demand more and more autonomy.
And the Devs think this is the way the majority plays.

Before playing inZOI I really wasn’t a fan of autonomy in life sim games. After a couple of hours in, I started to enjoy diving deeper into playing with one zoi for a few hours while the others managed to keep their needs high, etc. though. That’s why I chose to keep their autonomy on (since turning it off in general in the settings kinda failed me too). It worked well for a while and kind of still does, but this “we’re assigning jobs for you” really isn’t my jam. It doesn’t do a lot of damage to my playstyle and stories but quitting the job can give your zoi a negative emotion for a while, so it still bugs me a bit.

I just checked if there is a negative moodlet for quitting his job - there wasn’t.
But: there is a positive moodlet from the Go-getter trait about the job (the game assigned to him after the trait update -.-), so maybe this caused it?

Yesterday I noticed a want I hadn’t seen before. It was “wanting to get a fulltime job” or something similar to that. Has this been a common want / urge since release? If not, this want could’ve changed the zois autonomy behavior, increasing the chance of them applying for a job on their own. In combination with your go-getter trait this could be an indicator why the job issue has happened more often recently.

Someone else reported it on discord.

If I wanted a job for my Zois, I’d pick one for them.
