Zois are constantly fired from their active careers while not actively played

  • Game Version: latest

  • Platform: (Steam windows)

  • Mods: none

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…):

  • Steps to Reproduce: When you play rotationally and even reach the top of one of the active careers they constantly get fired for unknown reasons while they are not actively played.

  • Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.
Not sure this is needed here as this is happening over time with actually all Zois in active careers. If needed I can provide but they are all already fired.

  • Details:
I play rotationally currently with 8 households. I had one Zoi in each of the new active careers and all of them had reached the top level while I was actively playing the households. When I came back after a couple of weeks later after playing other households most of the Zois were fired from their jobs. With 1 Zoi I really made it to the next rotation while she still had the job, all the rest was already fired. Now a couple of weeks also she is fired.

  • Similar behavior I also see with the Amusement Park career (an old active career). I currently see that the performance of the Zoi has already dropped to 0% after one week not playing him and likely he also will be fired soon.

  • My only conclusion on this is that the game seems to not be able to handle the job tasks and or the schedules of the Zois autonomously while they are not actively played or at least I assume so. Otherwise I do not understand why this should be happening.

  • As this happened already with 6 Zois in my save this seems to be a systematic issue and not just a random thing.

  • I cannot confirm yet for the non-active careers but now started some as well and will keep track if this happens with these as well. But I assume these might be more easy to handle for the game autonomously as the Zois only have to go to work and have no tasks. I will report in case it happens with these as well.

  • Please fix this! It is very unsatisfying to see that all the work you have done to bring them up in the career ladder is for nothing because the Zois are not able to handle the jobs themselves.

I used to always have this issue when I played rotationally regardless of active career or non-active. It normally would be because some npc got promoted and since there weren’t enough slots, zois that were not in the active household would get fired. This is most likely still occurring. In my current (new save), I switch between 2 households. In my main household/main zoi, he works an active career and his brother works a rabbit hole career. When I switched to my other household and then switched back, the boss my zoi had was fired and it promoted one of the other guys. When I switched a second time, another one of his coworkers was replaced. So now, I don’t switch because I don’t want my main zoi to lose his job…

Oh no, I was really hoping that at least the non-active careers would not be affected of this bug… Very annoying.

For my gameplay I will continue switching as my save file is built that way and will need to think how to handle this. For some households this is not a big deal because the other partner is having his / her own business and money is not a problem at all. Here you could make the story that one parent is becoming a stay-home Mom or Dad. But for other households where the job is one of the main incomes this is really breaking the story. Probably only option to work with cheats at the moment.

This should really be fixed. They could give us an option in the new Houshold Autonomy options, something like “prevent losing / changing jobs” or something. If this works for marriage and pregnancies now it should also be possible for jobs.

Unfortunately, my zoi had to pay a $3000 bribe for the job because he could never pass the interview, so he can’t afford to get fired  . I’m hoping to only have to play this save temporarily, since I’m waiting for a fix to come for my main save. I’m getting tired of having to start over.

@PinkPassion sorry to hear that. That is always really annoying if a save becomes completely unplayable. Keeping fingers crossed they fix that and the other issues fast this time :folded_hands:

In my new game started in 0.10.1, my male zoi (hubby) is struggling getting a pay raise, after a week, he only increased 11% performance, and this is a rabbit hole job (the lawyer one). I thought it was an oddity, but based on this thread, it could possibly be affecting everything ?

Yes, I remember encountering this bug too, but it was a while back (approx. v0.8.0) and I really hoped this would be fixed by now =(
