As the title states: I like the feature that NPC families are getting kids on their own when I play in a single household save. But in a rotational save I would like to decide who gets kids and when. Is there a way to prevent the currently not actively played families from getting kids autonomously?
And is the “aging off” for not active families actually preventing accident deaths as well or only the aging?
Thanks a lot!

Yes, but it’s been a while since I tried this.
Basically make sure you have no Queen bed anywhere in the house.
Just put 2 single beds side by side in the bedroom instead.
Zois seem to only “Do it” on queen beds.
.
No, only the aging. For accidents, you need to go on each individual zoi and use the immortal zoi cheat

First off, yes that’s a total drag. I rotate a lot between my zois per save file and I can barely keep up with all the pregnant zois (+ if we’re not there for the birth, they’ll definitely mess up the names -.- ). Unfortunately, there isn’t an “official” workaround yet. What Comes To My Mind: Before you leave the family to play with another, uncheck the “interested in romantic relationships” option in CAZ. Could work but I haven’t tried it myself.
The Aging Off cheat doesn’t prevent them from dying of accidents, low needs or whatever.

Thank you both!
@Samuriko this is crazy
I would never had thought of deleting the Queen size beds. This is a workaround at least but I would really hope they give us the option to decide ourselves if the NPC families progress or not.
At the moment it anyway feels half baked for both playstyles:
- For singe household it is really annoying that the NPC families are only able to get kids but if they are not yet married they will die alone and never have a relationship.
- For rotational play all currently not played families are getting too many kids and messing up the intended gameplay you might have wanted for the specific Zoi and there is no option to turn it off.
@HeinziDerHeld Can you do that? Or do you mean with the “CustomZoi” Cheat? I hope they would then not loose the relationship with their partner while not playing this household.
And the names… yes… this is really completely off and unfortunately there is not even a cheat to change the name afterwards. Some have names which I do not even know how to pronounce.

Other than the 2 single beds, I don’t know of any. I have not tried @HeinziDerHeld solution, as I am quite happy to split the beds if it’s an issue.

Really good to know! Thanks @Samuriko I will try that in my current rotational save.

@EllaEstella If you go into CAZ with the zoi you’re actively playing (bottom right corner), you can click on the edit icon next to the zoi’s gender. Here you have the ability to disable romantic relationships for the zoi. I made a screenshot for you in case you haven’t seen this before:
It allows you to modify gender, romantic relationships and preferences in other zois.
I hadn’t heard of @Samuriko’s solution but that sounds really easy too. I’ll definitely try that asap. Thanks!

Thanks @HeinziDerHeld I normally always used the dresser or the CustomZoi Cheat to change appearance while in game. I thought the preferences would be only available with the cheat, but you´re right.
Only not sure if this could mess up the current relationship while not active as they would not be interested in their partner anymore.

No, the preferences are also available without the cheat by just going into CAZ
