Furniture Performance Scaling causes us to have to use the same exact furniture in every bedroom and in every house!

  • Furniture Performance Scaling

    • Performance of furniture has been differentiated based on price range. The higher the price, the better the performance.

    • What about the players that love the look of a lower costing item and don’t like the look of any of the expensive items to choose from?

    • I liked the option of having all zois in the house having their own beds, now with this update all zois have to sleep on the most expensive bed, so not irl!

    • So now every house has to have the same fridge, stove, everything… you just removed all items and only have one fridge and stove and everything elce :frowning:

    • A bedframe does not give better rest, a mattress does, to do this right you’d have bedframes and mattresses for players to match up according to their budget and likings.

    • A $100 Samsung phone outlasts a $2000 iPhone simply because Apple only gives 6 years then you’re cut off.

    • Please do not ruin inZOI, you have started off so well and now this???!!!???!!!???!!!

Hello @JoyIsFunner,

We have transferred your post to the Q&A category.

This will allow other Creators to assist you more efficiently.

Thank you for your understanding :slightly_smiling_face: .

Agreed. It’s nice to have variety

You are awesome, Thanks

I get what you’re saying, but to me performance scaling is an important aspect of the gameplay loop - it gives Zois a reason to work hard and build up funds in order to buy better stuff. You don’t have to always buy the most efficient items as long as the others perform decently, plus there’s always Canvas if you want more styles. The Sims games have always worked this way and players still manage to be creative with different furniture items.

That made us use mods like make all beds give 10 rest and comfort in the sims, however your point is true zois should have goals to work toward like building a bigger house and stuff like that but why should we only be able to use 1 ugly bed for every zoi once we have money? Adding unlocking new items after achieving some skill levels and/or career levels would be more practical and at the same time letting us players that love our basic refrigerator keep it and let it work just as well as those futuristic machines that look like they’d eat us.

The best thing IMO would be to have several pieces of furniture in different styles at each quality level. That way you get visual variety as well as the gameplay benefits.

Also you can look at my canvas, I have 3 base game beds with over 100 downloads and they are recolorable, this raises two concerns about Mod beds first is what would tell us if they give the best rest and comfort, and second we can’t color them and/or add textures to them at all.

Yes, I agree

That’s a good point about modded furniture - perhaps they will add a way to view performance stats for items on Canvas?

Right and what about all the modded beds that are already on canvas that these people made and others already downloaded, do they all get sleep level 10 and from here forward now they choose sleep and comfort quality or do they just set a price and the game sets the levels according to the price?

Another prime example is my aunt bought a washing machine for about $1000 and it lasted about a year and our used $25 washing machine has lasted years and is still working. Her $1000 washing machine did not clean any better, not everything that costs more money is better.

For PCs yes buying high end Mobo, high GPU ‘ fast RAM, fast SSD that matches up with high specs does make a difference on what you spend for the most part, providing that the Tech actually understands what is fastest and what works best together. But also to build very good right now costs about $2300 with sales to about $3000, once you get into anything that is 1% faster the prices are far not worth paying.

My best overall thought about Furniture Performance Scaling is let us use any model in the game and upgrade them once the zoi has enough money, like buy a better mattress for your bedframe, add components to the electronics and appliances.

My second overall choice is give us a setting to turn on or off Furniture Performance Scaling leaving this up to the player’s choice.

I had a similar line of thinking on this topic - from January 13th

maybe something like that will be introduced someday, it would serve freedom.

  • It could be advantageous to introduce an upgrade system for the same refrigerator that offers three versions: cheap (poor), standard (average), and expensive (good). My goal is to ensure that everything can be excellent. I’ve always found it frustrating when, for example, you want to create a country home aesthetic, which leads to very simple interior design, which often results in inferior furniture. This tempts you to buy a high-tech refrigerator because of its superior specifications, even if it doesn’t match the aesthetic.

Exactly, just like you said

that is what I need to build a whole world with every house having it’s own design and vibe. :+1:
