Customers keep coming into places they're not supposed to come..

Just as a humble suggestion, if there is a right and wrong side to doors, could we please get SOME visual indication of which is which? Like, some sign on the side that other people shouldn’t come through? Sorta like the men/women toilet doors in The Sims?

There is a visual indicator on the door. There always has been from the start. Before you place a door on a wall, it is red and the arrow below it indicates the exterior and thus the entry permission direction. You can also use the door handle/knob as an indicator. The exterior side always has the door handle on your left.

Ironically I just experienced this only when adding a second door leading to the outside, acting as an emergency exit door through the kitchen. For some reason adding the second door messed up the permissions for all other doors in the building.

Before adding the second door though the permissions for the other doors seemed to be working fine. Really odd bug indeed.

Well, then arrows definitely weren’t helping my bug. I just checked on my saved preset and one of the doors through which people were coming through my house was definitely with the arrow pointed outwards. Ironically, the one they were exiting through had the arrow pointed inside. I don’t think I’ve set any special permissions on the house doors, but I would have expected it to be common sense that anyone not family member should:

  • stay out of the house when not invited inside
  • stay out of my lot entirely, unless they have a reason to be going to my doorbell

Basically I guess I’ve lived enough to become the old man shouting at kids to stay off his lawn :stuck_out_tongue:

Might explain the stranger stuck in my bathroom, though…

Seeing this topic reminds me of my little shop.

Customers come in not to buy anything, but to use the restroom. Regardless of whether it’s occupied or not, everyone feels awkward.:scream: Yet, I can’t stop them!

Some customers hog the restroom just to look at themselves in the mirror. I had to remodel the restroom to have separate wet and dry areas.

The toilet was always occupied, so in the end, I had no choice but to tear it out.

My shop doesn’t need a restroom

It keeps getting worse… my shop closes at 18:00 and seems like it has now become a shelter after hours. That second door really messed things up.

Any luck the dev team will look into this soon?

Yep there’s a visual indicator, but i just didn’t know it affected how Zoi’s come in.. i personally think that it should work no matter how the door is positioned. Or they should add a little note to the psycat guide lol (If it’s not already there :sob:)

Yeah, in the previous family, I even had an old homeless guy come in and die, slightly after closing time. Even more worryingly, I had aging turned off.

Hi @zoiAddic,
We tested the save file you shared and confirmed that after changing the door direction to open outward, guests no longer enter.

Please note that the direction indicated by the arrow represents the outside, and guidance is provided in the area highlighted with a yellow box in the image below.

Could you please try adjusting the door direction again on your end and check whether the issue still occurs? Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
