[12.26.2025] enchanced romantic relationships akd better jobs system

I will never forget their first AMA (that was around when EA was released) and how flustered they’ve been when talking about the shower towel (~ 1:14:00) and ‘things you do to have a baby ‘ (~ 56:30). . .

Then I already knew I shouldn’t get my hopes too high, but I didn’t realize how bad this would be.

Well, they could probably do it following PRC/China’s example. Will this version be financed under the law from the company’s assets (GIPA) with the involvement of state support (grants, subsidies)? It seems to me that legally they’d need to split offices / the publisher, similar to how China distributes the global version through other publishers like Tencent. Yet Inzoi has already endured the drop from GRAC 12 to GRAC 15, as well as the drop in sales/audience, facing difficulties with a limited budget. Lots to think about.

It’s sad, but it seems everything is falling into place. I expected such a “sterile” gameplay, but I stayed chill since modders promised they’d jump in fast. Another question is why, with WW modders ready, inZOI Team didn’t provide script mods and documentation.

Yes, for example, there is a separate controlled and restricted Chinese Steam. Global section is unrestricted. An example of this could be Inzoi global version PEGI +16. may have restrictions on romance for those using the Korean version. ( GRAC +15 )

With all the issues mods are currently causing, allowing script mods would open pandora’s box ö.ö

Sounds logical, you can’t really argue with it, and yet there might be another nuance in Korean laws, financial matters, or Krafton’s own policies. Their stock situation isn’t great right now (when EA’s stock was at its peak), there are lawsuits with Subnautica, a lack of new attractive IPs, basically only PUBG can remain profitable, while the rest is running at a loss. Who knows.

I’m glad you finally agreed with my point of view. Thank you for this wonderful and valuable discussion.

They could make an international release version then. Japan does something similar. They have a local release that adheres to current laws and them an international release for the rest of the world. It’s literally just a matter of adding stuff to international release and then not adding them to local release. Also, the sims is still being played in korea, is it not? And not as a 19+ game. So they can spice up the game more, no?

Upon reading further into it, GRAC15 allows: “Indirect and restricted depiction of sexuality, violence, improper language (expletives)”. I couldn’t find specifics, but more likely they’re on the same level of strict as as EU. In which case, everything i mentioned should be allowed. But it actually got me thininking. Know how the game started as GRAC12 and then increased to GRAC 15? What if everything romance related stayed in GRAC12? Cause it certainly looks like it. Meaning, they can definitely afford to turn up the volume. The next age rating GRAC 19 is full on… woohoo without the hearts… so GRAC 15 should definitely allow for more suggestive themes without directly crossing the line, no?

Everything can be done if the company is interested. But I think it’s them you should ask, not me. I mean, directly to Kjun: please make a global version for us, and so on.

I understood what kind of game I was buying and studied its USP and reviews carefully. I’m just reminding of what Kjun promised, but I’m not trying to replicate Sims or anything, simply because it’s a different game and has the right to be shy and clumsy under the author’s cultural background.

As I said, the company’s got its own lawyers, and they definitely sort things out every time. So, in theory they can do this, but if they don’t, there must be a reason, right? Maybe tomorrow they’ll sort out some of their issues and say, ok, here and here we’re ready to loosen the grip.

The reason may simply be that the regulator is less strict with games from the external market, especially older ones, than with its own new titles. It is probably a matter of the image of domestic products, as if to say: look, we preserve the traditional order, and so on.

Another reason why inZOI is so tame might be the investors. Hyundai, Samsung and LG are traditional family led companies and they might have put some pressure on the devs to provide a clean image. (I’ve often read traditional korean companies ditched their brand ambassadors and models for ‘inappropriate behaviour’, stuff that’s totally forgivable in other parts of the world but costs your reputation in Korea.)

For example the no kids before marriage restriction in the beginning of EA and the same gender relationship hassles.

But pressure from the players made them change their mind, so imo it’s worth fighting for more romantic interactions :revolving_hearts:

Then Korean version and Global version should be separated. Those who use the game in Korean may have romance limited access. But we don’t want restrictions.
