Conversations in community lots have become unbearably slow.
This is the Bayview Library in Bliss Bay, but it happens everywhere. Even when there are no NPCs intervening, the Zoi remain inactive between one topic and another. I wouldn’t mind if each topic lasted longer, but the animation should show that they are talking.
This didn’t happen before, conversations were much smoother.

Agreed. The zois simply wait doing nothing between queued conversations. This happens even when no one is interrupting them, as seen in the posted video.
And with conversation while eating, the Zois take forever to complete the conversation as well the food.
Exactly! When they’re eating it’s practically impossible to talk, they never finish!
I posted about this after the December update myself.
Somone suggested it may be connected to the multitasking mechanic, which could well be the case, though the idle moments occur between conversation interactions regardless of whether any multitasking is being done or not.
I have noticed that eating while watching TV also results in them eating incredibly slowly too, as if multitasking means they can’t do two things at once efficiently.
I have even had zois read a book and watch TV at the same time, which had the same result, and was not something I expected them to do!
Yes, multitasking slows everything down, I talked about it here:
Basically it’s not multitasking, the two actions alternate.
In the case of the conversations in the video, however, they’re not doing anything else, there’s not even someone joining the conversation. They’re dead time.
