Dear inZOI Team & Players,
As I have sufficiently played inZOI’s new Insland Getaway, I believe I have gathered significant feedback, and am eager to share my honest pros and cons of Cahaya city and its gameplay. I wanted to stray away from this particular forum, as well as prevent myself from consuming too much current inZOI media, as to not present bias or persuasion in my feedback. After this playthrough of Island Getaway, I now have a good understanding of my personal desires for the city.
First, I will start with the city’s big attraction, the Sri Lestari Resort. I decided to book my Zoi a room in the Premier Ocean View Villa. I began to peruse the resort, however, I quickly realized there are not many activities to partake in for beginner Zois i.e. Zois who have just been created. Aside from that, I enjoyed the activities my Zoi was able to participate in, such as shopping, interacting with other Zois, swimming, observing scenery, taking photos, etc.
Aside from activities, it’s also nice to get lost in the beautiful views of Cahaya. I love the beach views. Speaking of the beach, I find it’s a great place to interact with other Zois. With the view and the interactive elements combined, the beaches will be a go-to spot for me in inZOI. Beaches aren’t just for looks and conversation, though. Beaches are for snorkeling, and wildlife discovery as well!
Enjoying the wildlife the Cahaya has to offer is an amazing experience, so I had my Zoi apply for the sea turtle conservation job. I love when a game can provide realistic scenarios, while keeping a theme in mind and staying true to that theme, and providing players with something to be passionate about in-game and in their personal lives.
While the sea turtle conservation career provides a realistic and passionate game element, there is still more to be desired outside of having a career in inZOI. While the Zois have free time, I’d love to experience more boardwalk activities and shops. For example, more vendors like foodtrucks, clothing, produce, face-painting, etc. or even vending machines such as gacha capsule dispensers, ufo catchers, and/or a freeze-pop machine would all work really well to keep Zois busy and keep the city on-brand for Island Getaway.
While the game certainly has its perks, though, it has its downfalls as well. For example, not everything is clear-cut. That isn’t to say that challenge is not desirable in a game, but when you seem to have to find out a lot on your own (even how to board the waterslide via the turnstyle), it can tend to make the game’s tasks slightly more mundane or even a bit frustrating. While challenge is certainly entertaining, it doesn’t have to be so frequent. This especially makes exploring the map, organically, slightly difficult.
Despite this difficulty, I was still able to discover a lot on my own, whether that be sites, interactive objects, shops, or gameplay features. One of my favorite bits of scenery is the giant outdoor movie screen. Well, the screen isn’t the beautiful scenery, rather it’s the combination of the screen and the environment. it has a tinge of nostalgia, like a smaller-scale drive-in theater. I believe that this movie screen could be used for more. I know this isn’t necessarily in line with “Island Getaway”, however, a Zoi movie-maker could be implemented into the screen as an interactive feature. Perhaps this could be utilized in future DLC.
In conclusion, Cahaya is a generally good map that may lack a few things gameplay wise. While not everything is fully fleshed-out to its full capacity, I’m glad inZOI has invited players to provide feedback on the new DLC; it’s a good sense of community. While some areas may be lacking, others are thriving. Cahaya is truly the city of light, as there’s never a dim moment in Cahaya. There’s so much more to discover the longer that you play Island Getaway.
edit: Snorkeling is fun, and I enjoy immersing myself and my Zoi in Cahaya’s natural aquatic biome. Although, I do wish there was the ability to purchase an underwater, disposable camera. This way, you could have access to physical memories in your inventory, or even use the developed images as decorations.
