If the devs could add ONLY ONE feature to inZOI tomorrow… what would you choose?

I completely agree! As I already said, I’m setting the ages the way you described, Child (6-12), Adolescent (13-19), Teenager (20-26), Young Adult (27-54), Adult (55-68), Middle Age (69-82) and Elderly (83+ with progressive probability of death increasing only at 95+), but you can’t shorten the baby and toddler phases, which are too long and, currently, too boring!

@mialuce66 says the toddler stage is boring, meanwhile I am dying from exhaustion from caring for one xD But I get it, yes. It’s very tedious to raise a child in the game atm.

It’s a good question! At least we need many more perks, life goals, and traits in CAZ — maybe even MBTI-types or something similar to how in… one old game we could distribute points between opposite traits — like Lazy–Active, Serious–Playful, Grouchy–Nice, etc.
Imho, I’d also love to see

  • profession-related habits,

  • personal routines (night owl / early bird, always late / always punctual etc),

  • body language,

  • memory system,

  • personal preference

    • more other physical expressions: different heights, distinct walking styles, different voice tones, maybe even some adjustable facial expressiveness.
      And what do you think?

Great question. If I had to choose, I would definitely focus on the actual gameplay because as far as graphics and character creation go, we’re at a decent point. I wouldn’t focus so much on deeper personalities but rather on the intelligence of the sims. The personalities and traits we have now could be sufficient, but the sims lack quite a bit of intelligence. It’s clear that they have many random actions and reactions, so if they were more consistent with the context, early access would already benefit a lot in terms of playability. And it would make me go back to playing some stories in gameplay mode.

I would honestly love being able to visit relatives or friends in other cities. Even something simple like going to another city just to hang out for an afternoon at a pub without needing to buy a house there would feel like such a big improvement. That would probably only work if all the cities progressed at the same time like you mentioned.

Thinking more about it, it would make sense to be able to phone call, write emails and send text messages to people in other cities right? It would feel much more realistic.

For example having a zoi in Blissbay who has a friend in Dowon he messages often, and then planning to travel to Dowon or have the friend come to Blissbay for a couple of days as a special occasion.

I’ve noticed the random actions sometimes too, where it feels like they’re not really responding to the situation they’re in. If their behavior was more context-aware, it would probably make everyday gameplay feel a lot smoother and more believable. Sometimes something big happens and it feels like it happens on a vacuum, and no zoi reacts to it.

Do you think this is mostly about better AI decision-making, or more about Zois remembering what’s happening around them and reacting to it over time? I’m not really sure what would be the next step forward for the devs.

All of those are great ideas! Different voices and walking styles, body language, habits seem to be popular requests so hopefully the devs will take notes at some point :folded_hands: I especially like the idea of habits and personal routines, like being a night owl, always running late, or being super punctual are kind of key to how people are and could add a lot of personality to Zois.

I’ve also thought a lot about the possibility of them adding love languages and conflict management styles to the game. Having zois react differently to the same event, like a lover sending them flowers or a coworker being rude, for example, could add a lot of diversity to gameplay. Zois would have to manage their relationship differently depending on the zoi they are socializing with, and relationships wouldn’t be just a matter of filling up a friendship or romance bar by accumulating positive actions towards the target.

Out of everything you mentioned, what do you think would make the biggest improvement to gameplay if it was added first? I would say personal routines and the memory system (luckily already in the works!).

This indifference that Zois sometimes have towards the world around them breaks immersion quite a bit, yes. I’ve already talked about it a while ago in a post, one of my couples got divorced.

They had 4 children and none of them had the slightest emotion about this. It was very surreal, it seems they didn’t even notice that the father is no longer in the house.

They don’t have desires like talking to him, visiting him, etc., they wouldn’t have the slightest relationship if I didn’t take the initiative.

As for personality, many very interesting proposals have been made, here on the forum and on Discord. For me the main problems are two:

  • the current system is too simplified and therefore the personalities of Zois are superficial, not very deep.
  • personality should evolve, based on the memory of events that have occurred, experiences, etc. So a child could have two basic characteristics and then acquire others as they grow, or even modify them, change them, in the sense of attenuating or exasperating them.

First of all I would take all of the mentioned improvements here

But for me the most important would be deeper personalities in combination with a long-term life progression as the long-term progression would at least partly create the deeper personalities.

And gameplay wise I am really missing more interactions between family members and friends apart from just talking to each other. I would really love to see activities which Zois can do together for certain amount of time while passively building relationships with the Zoi or group of Zois with whom they are doing the activity. Currently the only option to build relationships is to stand or sit around and talk. But in real life you often also do stuff together with your friends or family and while doing stuff of course you talk amd build relationships.

The age sliders mentioned by @Samuriko are a “must” as well but that I would consider more as a fix, not a real new feature. I would really love to see such behavior as @HeinziDerHeld mentioned with grandparents coming over after the baby is born etc. but unfortunately at the moment the grandparents would be dead already long before their grandchildren are born if we do not cheat with the aging.

Okay, then something very minor I’ve lamented form the first hour of playing after the CAZ character creation. → A Transverse Flute. ←

Yeah that’s it. I wanted my original Samuriko to become a flautist (Or flutist), level 10 music with that instrument. I settled on Piano instead. But I still want that insignificant feature in the game someday…

More important, I think I’d rather have a max family size slider. Like having a 14 member family would be a dream for me. I was able to mod it, thanks to Nyami, but the UI is a bit annoying (especially for portrait selecting a family member).

But the Transverse flute was my very first suggestion on Discord, back when they were taking suggestions over there. Still hoping for that one day.

Personal routines and the other physical expressions I guess

Yeah, that definitely kills immersion. Even something small like wanting to call the parent who moved out or asking about them would make the world feel much more alive. I’m hoping that with the new memory system this can be improved, and for example in that type of situation, the kids would have the memory of living with the parent, and the memory of the parent’s divorce, so they can have desires and thoughts related to that, and even autonomous actions or events.

Personality should definitely evolve as zois grow, and I also believe there should be more to personality than traits, plus the current traits seem a bit lacking and some of them don’t make much sense. I’ve tried them, though, and they do change the behaviour of the zoi slightly, but it’s just not enough.

Personally, I’d like if they added stuff like love languages and conflict management styles, because from my point of view that would add a lot of depth to relationship building inside the game.

I get this. In real life you build relationship in all kids of ways, and sometimes is mostly about doing stuff together rather than just making conversation. It would make the gameplay feel much more natural.

Things like playing sports together, cooking as a family, doing a specific hobbie together, going out somewhere, or even just watching something together would make interactions feel a lot more organic. And if those activities slowly built relationships in the background, it would probably make social gameplay much smoother too.

Are there any specific activities you’d really like to see added first for friends or family to do together?

I do hope we get more instruments in a future update, or even in a DLC! And hopefully appart from the instrument skill, the possibility of being both a freelance and a hired musician as a career

I agree with all on your list because the whole list will give much better game play that inZOI is lacking of right now in early access.

For my choice is 7. Something completely different

I would like to see them fix the lighting and color bleeding issues so that I can play inZOI, especially the color bleeding, why can’t I have a white ceiling with a floor that is brown?

I’ll upload this image here to show what a 255 255 255 solid white ceiling looks like with a brown floor

I don’t what white floors, so beings that I can’t build the first house that I want I can’t play the game, so this is my first choice of what should be fixed as soon as possible.

@itsmechiie7 to be honest I would like to get as many as possible. But without moving too far our from what actions we generally already have in the game: Playing billiard together, chess, bowling (longer then currently one game lasts because it is too short at the moment), working out togehter, watching TV together. Playing instruments an singing together would also be great, And for family gameplay things like cooking together would also add to the immersion.

The most important thing for me would be that they also talk while doing all of these things and thus passively level their relationship while doing other stuff together.

Thank you for thaking the time to share your ideas! I had noticed a bit of color bleeding before, but since I don’t build a lot I never looked at it too closely. Your picture makes it pretty clear something’s going on. The color of the floor truly shouldn’t affect the ceiling like that.

Do you see this happening with other objects too, or is it mostly floors and ceilings?

Yes! Duration of certain actions and activities is really an issue, I’m glad that Kjun has addressed it and they are planning to tackle that at some point. Most of actions right now are really short, particulalry the ones that involve more than one zoi.

I would be particularly excited about zois being able to play instrument together. It would be good for them to be able to form a vibe or just vibe together  :custom_heart:

Actually for this kind of jointly performed actions while passively talking and building relationships the Inzoi team could take it from Sims 4. This part is actually quite good in the Sims 4 as you can build relationships while playing billiard, watching TV, playing darts, playing chess, fishing standing next to each other, playing table tennis, playing cards, dancing together, mentoring somebody for a certain skill etc. etc.

But Inzoi would have even more options to build this beyond that which I hope they will do. If you consider the event scripts which you can run for parties etc. you could build in a full “day out with friends at the beach” including hanging out at the campfire (while talking together), go surfing together, play ball games together, singing or playing instruments together or doing yoga together or whatever else. And the game could allow us to plan the actions for such events ourselves. If we could customize these we could build exactly the type of event we want like “friends visiting a night club” or “family day out in the park” or “family / friends visit at home” etc. etc. Then we could watch this play out and they having fun while building up their relationships, and if we want we can always take control ourselves again.

yes any objects, walls, anything and everything, the problem with the floor is that is not only affects the ceiling but it tints everything in the whole room, so a brown wooden floor makes the whole atmosphere have a brown tint

See pink furniture next to light blue walls

no matter how I try to build I have this problem, and I never had this problem in any other game.
