I hadn’t noticed that! I’m glad that you posted it as a bug report, hopefully the devs will take notes and fix it soon. Would you mind sharing it in Discord too for Brainstorming with Kjun? Is these small details that matter in the end, and I think it could speed up the process of getting it fixed if Kjun and the devs so it there too.
I haven’t played the sims 4 in a while, so I didn’t know that’s how building relationships work but it’s perfect.Zois just being able to build relationships while doing things together.
I’d also like this system to depend more on personality or traits. For example, if a non-competitive Zoi spends time doing competitive activities with a very competitive Zoi, like playing cards, bowling, or billiards as we were speaking, their relationship might actually get worse because they approach winning and losing very differently.
On the other hand, those same Zois might get along much better doing non-competitive activities together, like hanging out, going for drinks, or doing karaoke.
This would be great. It’s the type of system I hope they are going for. I haven’t tried creating any events myself in game so I am not sure how they work. What is the level of customization we are allowed right now?
I’m not going on Discord, you can link it there if you want ![]()
This is the most important! The ability to pose Zoi in a specific position by “pulling” the arms, legs, body, and head would be very useful. It’s like creating them in CAZ, but instead giving them a pose like dolls. Combined with changing facial expressions, this would help build any scenes and tell the stories you have in mind.
And, of course, “Fully open world cities”. This is directly related to the previous point. We need much more variety in locations - more different worlds, the ability for users to create them themselves. This is what would make it possible to create absolutely incredible scenarios.
Welcome to the forums!![]()
That’s a really cool idea, especially the posing part. Being able to just “pull” the arms, legs, and body into position like in CAZ would be amazing for storytelling and screenshots. It would make setting up scenes so much easier.
And yeah, I definitely agree on the open cities too. Having more variety in locations (especially the option for players to create their own) would make a huge difference. It would really open the door for all kinds of creative scenarios. I believe a lot of the players of this kind of games we like to create stories up to the tiniest detail, if that makes sense.
I’m thinking, would you rather have something quick and easy for posing, or go full detail mode and tweak every little movement?
Totally fair
Did something happen, if you don’t mind me asking? Sadly they don’t allow linking here, but I might try to create a post about this! . If you have more thoughts on it though, feel free to share them here too!
Na nothing happened, I went on the Discord and it was constant chat, and I have no interest in chatting with a multitude of people, and as far as “go on Discord when Kjun is Brainstorming” nope I’m not going to add more chat to the competition, does the Forum have no impact on influencing how inZOI is being created, does the Forum have a purpose or is it just a decoration?
Thank you for the greeting, very nice! ![]()
Regarding pose settings - both options would be desirable. Again, by analogy with CAZ: a basic mode where you can drag by the main joints - elbows, knees, but Zoi always stands with feet on the ground. And an advanced mode where you can simulate a jump, raise a leg in a “karate kick”, sit Zoi on a stone or a stool, allow him to simply levitate… There should already be adjustments for foot tilt and work with each individual finger of the hands. I don’t think full deformation capability is needed, like plasticine, skeletal animation is enough, but it should still allow Zoi to sit in a split or fold in half forward or backward.
I would definitely love that! ![]()
I get what you mean. Discord can move really fast, and it’s easy for things to get buried in the chat there. That’s actually one of the reasons I prefer forums too, because it’s much easier to have longer discussions and keep ideas visible instead of them disappearing in a few seconds.
I’d like to think the forum still has some influence though, even if brainstorming sometimes happens on Discord. At the very least it gives people a place to explain their ideas more clearly.
Out of curiosity, have you seen cases where feedback from the forum actually made it into the game, or does it feel like it mostly gets ignored?
That actually sounds like a really good balance. Having a simple mode for quick posing and then a more advanced one for people who want to really fine-tune things would probably make it useful for both casual players and people who like creating scenes.
I especially like the idea of being able to pose Zois sitting on objects or doing things like jumps or kicks. I think it would open up a lot of possibilities for storytelling or screenshots.
Now I’m curious though, would you mostly use it for storytelling and screenshots, or were you thinking it could also be useful for things like creating custom animations or adding scenes in gameplay?
I can’t tell yet
A dynamic personality system based on real psychology – personality evolution through upbringing and experience, motivations/desires and fears, growth/stress zones (green zone/vibe/aura, mental breakdown) (Enneagram basics), physique and temperament (NS), lifestyles and quirks, personality expression through autonomous behavior, behavioral patterns and habits, compatibility and conflict (resolution), love and attachment styles, social ripple effect.
If they actually implement all of this, it’ll be a top‑tier simulator for me. If not, then it’s still solid, but more of a dollhouse with some open‑world action sandbox elements.
Yeah, that makes sense. It might just be too soon to know how much impact the forum has yet.
I agree that systems like compatibility, habits, and motivations could make Zois feel a lot more alive instead of just having static traits, particularly since the current traits are lacking and far from perfect. The Enneagram seems rich enough to bring zois personalities to life, and I think Kjun did acknowledge it at some point?
One thing I’ve also been thinking about that could tie into that is something like love languages or conflict-management styles. Different Zois could respond better to certain types of affection or communication differently, and conflicts between them could play out in different ways depending on their personalities. That could add another layer to relationships and make them feel more dynamic.
Yes, that might be an option, but it already requires the devs’ own research + Kjun often speaks vaguely, sometimes includes that in his responses so as not to upset anyone. Later today I hope SugarZoi will reply, this is her main topic right now and she suggested reminding more often so they don’t forget, but I asked if that’s really necessary and if there might be another way.
Storytelling and screenshots. As for the gameplay - I think the developers will take care of that themselves. What would be the point of globally changing something like the surprise emotion? That one character’s eyebrow isn’t raised high enough and absolutely needs to be edited for every single character? I don’t think so. If we’re talking about creating mods that affect functionality, then it seems to me that creating the necessary poses definitely wouldn’t be a problem for someone who understands how to influence the game’s mechanics.
For me, right now the game is most interesting as a source of screenshots. Video? Yes, that would be great, but it’s very time-consuming. However, if there were a way to similarly create a sequence of poses and finely adjust the transitions between them - then I might give video a try. That said, I prefer the option of capturing movements with a webcam; that’s much simpler. But taking a photo of myself every time to create a static image? No, that would just be pointlessly filling up the animation library.
The ready-made poses that are currently available work well for promoting the game - showing a heart or a peace sign. But they’re not suitable for creating a user story, and on top of that, it would be very inconvenient to have to scroll through all those pose lists every time. That’s precisely why it’s easier to adjust things directly in puppet mode, just as I’m suggesting .
This topic post has become a ‘catch-all’ of all wish list items, very similar to those discussions on discord.
And now it is highly unlikely that any developer is going to dig deep, read all this, then catalog, then prioritize and then even think of implementing. Their “auto-catch-ideas-from-the-discord mess-AI-system” is going to give up as well.
Deep Sigh. The talk was good when it started.
Thank you so much for your great suggestions. But, I’m afraid I’m beginning to think the developers won’t be very interested in investing more deeply in the gameplay, since —in my opinion— they’re only fixated on Discord and are successfully neglecting other communication channels
.
I’d like to share my choice here: Long-term character progression and more meaningful careers. That would be great.
I get why you’d wonder if there’s a better way than repeating things, I wonder about that too. Part of me hopes the devs already have a roadmap or a clear vision for how they want personalities to work, and that might explain why some of the replies stay a bit vague.
I do think repetition helps to a point though. If we look at the recent brainstorms, it seems like Kjun did pick up on things we kept bringing up, like bug complaints or the mod migration schedule. It might also be that some of the ideas he acknowledges are still really early in development, so there just isn’t much concrete to share yet.
What I keep wondering about is the purpose of the forums and how much reach it actually has compared to Discord. Sometimes it feels like Discord is where most of the direct interaction happens.
Do you get the sense that things posted here actually reach the devs?
I completely agree with this take. Scenes would probably feel much easier if posing worked more like a puppet tool rather than relying on long lists of preset animations. Being able to adjust things directly would give a lot more freedom when trying to capture a particular moment, and truly storytellers are a great way of promoting the game free of charge.
I do wonder how much the devs are planning to support that kind of creative use of the game though. Right now it feels like the tools are still pretty basic, but the potential for storytelling and scene creation seems pretty big if they expand them.
