Lots Are too Far Apart: They should be in Clusters.

Right now lots are too far apart. We need lots that are clustered together for meaningful long term gameplay. Blissbay should have 3-4 clusters of lots. Clusters would allow for players to easily interact with neighbors (i.e: custom or playable NPC families like the Martins in Dowon).

Clustered lots would also allow for having gameplay where having affluent and low income neighborhoods are integral to the gameplay backstory. In the case of apartment lots: all apartment lots should either be in the same building, distributed across buildings side by side or across the street.

I understand why you want this. It’s the perspective of a builder and someone who has many families that intermarry with each other. That way, you can build entire neighborhoods in a single style, and it would look believable. Overall, I agree that it makes sense.

But the developers are probably thinking primarily about players who create two or three families, or even just one, and then move out the descendants. And if I play as one family first, and then as another, I probably wouldn’t find it interesting to constantly live in the same location. The neighboring apartment would only be useful for having my family interact with its residents without having to switch over to play as them. And when I play as my other family, I’d find it far more interesting to be in a different part of the map, where everything feels different—rather than just living on another floor in the same building.

I think I’m not wrong in saying that a fairly large portion of players usually play with just three families, and those families don’t even live on different lots—they live in three different towns altogether. Just to get a sense of variety.

So I would rather ask for the towns themselves to be larger. At least to start with. And then later, the number of lots for players in each town could be increased. Ideally, of course, there would be many new towns, plus the ability to create custom ones, but that’s all a matter for the future, after the release of version 1.0
