Can we get realistic genetics such as recessive and dominant they had that in the sims 2 especially for mixed families , I will add photos below.
I couldn’t find any for skin color but its the same thing almost.

I agree that we need realistic genetics. But your scheme is slightly simplified. Everything is a bit more complicated with the transmission of genetic traits.
You have shown that brown-eyed parents cannot have a blue-eyed child, but this is definitely not the case. If one parent’s ancestors have blue eyes, then they can be passed down through the generation. Approximately as shown in the picture below.
Yes, I would also like realistic genetics that takes into account recessive/dominant genes.
Wouldn’t this conflict with the current methods of creating the eyes, hair and skin tones of our zois?
I think the only way to make realistic genetics is to lock us into colour selections rather than complete freedom over the colours.
Eye colour would be especially difficult without this kind of locking-in mechanic. There are several types of irises in CAZ, and we also have full control over two colours, their ratio, and how much they blend together when we create or customize zois.
I want realistic genetics of facial features and skull characteristics, but I don’t want to give up freedom-of-creation for realistic genetics involving eye colours and skin tones.
Skin types already have some “suggested” options presented, and I think in order for the type of realistic genetics you’re talking about, they would need to make those the only options and take away the colour selection. The same would need to be set up for eye types (for example, you select a blue eye type and there are a range of blue tones and blends to choose from for that eye type), and we would need to choose a natural hair colour for any zoi we want to have colourful dyed hair.
I’m not sure if it’s technically possible, but it would be nice if, for every eye and hair color we create in CAZ, we could indicate whether it’s recessive or dominant
.
That way, someone could create a world where, say, purple eyes are dominant, or green hair is dominant, as they please. For dyed hair, instead, one would have to create the Sim with the natural color, which gets passed on, and dye it afterward.
Then I noticed that my NPCs born in-game never have the exact color code of one of the parents, but always a little different.
@mialuce66 I had a similar idea but I wanted to go in depth based on how I knew the techinical side of the sims 2 and 3 went However, I didnt want to hijack your thread. Let me know what you think, if you had a similar idea or we are on the same page : CAZ Presets & Genetics System — Unified Proposal
I’m sure implementing a genetics system is common and popular feedback and want (And a standard and vital quality of life feature in life sims TBH).
I find it crutial to not make requests too vague or conceptial at this point. I am concerned if the reasoning of why there has been no current word on the future genetic system implementation is because they might not have a current plan on how to go about it from a game design and a techinical point of view. The sims 2 and sims 3 already proved that you can have a realistic and cusotmizable genetic system, if planned and implemented properly.
