I would love to see the Inzoi team work on genetics more, this includes Create a Zoi mode and children genetics. In CAZ mode, I feel the sliders are still very limited. There’s a limit to how far I can slide the chin and face shape for example. It makes it more difficult to make a zoi exactly how I desire. The side view especially, I can never seem to shape the nose and side view in the way I am looking for. The sliders don’t move much for the side of the face. So I would love to have CAZ expanded and less limited!
For me, genetics are a major gameplay feature as majority of my gameplay revolves around children and genetics. I’ve noticed the children seem to take the entire face of their parents. There doesn’t seem to be much mixing of genetics at all. I would love so they do not take the entire eye and nose of one parent - instead a blend would be nice. Realistically, children don’t take the exact eyes of a parent for example: there are dominant and recessive genes as well, etc. I do not want a clone of my parent zois only with a different eye color, otherwise if the family has a big family, they all look identical which takes the fun out of family gameplay and generations. I also love the surprise of not knowing how the child will look like! So if the children all looked different from each other I would love that! Looking more different from their parents is preferred over clones, at least for me. But so far, they’ve been clones of one parent’s face or the female version of the dad / the male version of the mom. I would definitely love to see this get tuned and worked on sometime soon in the future. Thank you for all your hard work and everything you do
Me too! I’m hoping it can be prioritized sooner than new content. Would have personally preferred fixed / good genetics over business (first) but that’s just me!
Yessss I totally agree with this idea. Genetics/family line is a huge part of my gameplay as well, but I don’t want the children to be clones of the parents either. A mix would be really cool to see since that represents real life. And it would be exciting to see how the characteristics you chose for each parent look when mixed randomly.
I noticed the slider thing as well. Noses are one of the biggest issues - I can’t get most Zois to have their true nose shape and side view because the sliders favor a certain look.
Male and female faces should also not be so drastic. When I go from male to female or female to male of a Zoi, their look can changed DRAMATICALLY and they look completely different. Genetics aren’t supposed to work that way, like women aren’t the only ones with small heart shaped faces - women can also look masculine, and I’d like to be able to make Zois without traits favoring a particular gender. I love how much Inzoi has already put into the game, so I hope they can improve on these things!
I’m glad I’m not the only one! I know some people might not care if they’re not into generational or family gameplay, but I don’t want another Sims 4 genetics. They were so awful and just copy paste practically. With Inzoi, several of mine turned out to be clones of their parents - I was trying to spot the difference besides the hair?? It’s a really important feature in my opinion to get fully fletched out before new content (that’s not already improving the basics). It would be exciting if they were the first life simulator game to get genetics right. If anyone can do it, it’s Inzoi They’re constantly surprising me!
And yes about the not all women look feminine and vise versa! Some men look very feminine! This definitely needs to get fixed
I think the issue with genetics is from the fact that there are no separate categories for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Because the only template is the entire face the only thing that gets selected from is the entire face of either of the two parents.
There needs to be separate categories for as many features as possible, so that the genetics can be pulled from as many categories as possible.
You are so right! It’s unfortunate (at the moment) there is only one template. Like even while making a zoi, I’ve noticed sometimes a preset has the perfect eye shape (eyelids, for example) for the character I’m trying to create, but not the right lips or nose. They can only be tweaked so much which limits a lot. The more presets and sliders they add in the future the better off for genetics, like you said! There’s not really such a thing as too many sliders while making a zoi - the more the better
As long as changes to sliders do not affect currently saved Zoi presets, I am okay with this. I DO NOT WANT EXISTING SAVED ZOI PRESETS TO BREAK and I cannot stress this enough.
