Hey there, welcome to the inZOI forum!

This change was intended by the devs, probably to balance launch stability or due to popular demand. You can still access Canvas by clicking the “C”-icon on the top right of your screen, which will open your browser with the Canvas website

Hello @vlago863,
Thanks for raising this! Based on the information shared by the storyteller that this change was intentional, this isn’t a technical issue but expected behavior.
We’ll be moving this post to the Q&A category. Thank you!

Hi!

I’m not really a fan of this change. The previous menu was more helpful for me, especially with the follower info, notifications, and the browser downloads.

I read that the update was made for “launch stability or due to popular demand”, and I’d appreciate a bit more context about that.
Is there a way to view the feedback behind this update? And is there any option to keep the previous version on my end?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s an option to turn the in-game canvas back on yet. I like the new version, but the old one was working fine on my end and I kinda miss having the option to access canvas in-game too.

I partly made the assumption about “launch stability or due to popular demand” due to this thread from the Q&A category which got a lot of attention: Explicit Uploads. Just to clarify, I don’t have any insight into the devs’ reasoning, it was simply an educated guess :slightly_smiling_face:

Maybe we’ll hear about what made this the obvious choice for them in one of the future Brainstorm with Kjun?

If this will fix the explicit uploads, I’ll happily accept a little downtime

Thank you for your reply! I checked the update notes as well, and the only reason mentioned is that Canvas popups now open in an external browser “for better optimization”.

Since the external browser doesn’t show the same details, we had in‑game (like downloads or exact follower numbers), I’m still curious about the reasoning behind removing the menu entirely.

I’d love to hear more from the staff if they can share anything.

(Screenshot from March showing that the Canvas homepage didn’t display explicit content on my side only Editor’s Picks and standard banners.)

@LittleBrownBiscuit - I’m unsure if the previous menu screen is even set to make a return any time in the near future. I wouldn’t mind, because opening canvas via browser works (just like the version prior), but I was fortunate enough not to witness any of the explicit uploads, so I really hope those stay away from your screens no matter what :slightly_smiling_face:

@LixyQuinn170 - you can see your follower numbers and downloads by clicking on your own profile in the browser, can’t you? In my case, this is how canvas looks:

Thanks for sharing your screenshot! I think the experience might be a bit different depending on the follower count. In my case, since I’m over 1K, the browser version only shows a rounded number (for example, 2.2K), so I can’t see the exact follower count or any of the other detailed info anymore.
That’s why I really liked the in‑game menu — it showed the real number and it was encouraging to follow the growth. :custom_butterfly:

Let’s see what the team says. Thanks!

I hope the in-game Canvas access and main-menu notification feed will return.

The only feedback I was reading about the main menu was people wanted the option to switch between holiday-themed menu backgrounds and the default, and many did not want the Canvas recommended screens.

I LOVE the new screen that shows only screenshots! During gameplay, we still see Canvas stuff on the load menus that pop up (sometimes even when you check what’s happening in the back yard while playing a zoi inside!) and I haven’t seen the modded outfits we used to see plastered all over those.

I still would prefer to not have any recommended Canvas screens displayed in the game (when you’re not looking at the in-game Canvas browser), especially since I keep seeing that building someone stole from VIBES and it makes me feel disappointed.

However, I definitely want to be able to access Canvas inside the game when optimization has been ensured. :crossed_fingers:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I think we might be talking about slightly different things, though.

The recommended screens that appear during loading can’t be disabled, that’s true — they flash by so quickly that I usually can’t even read the creator names.
But the pop‑up recommendations in Build Mode and CAZ can be turned off in the game settings, so at least those are optional.

My concern was more about the detailed information that used to be in the main menu — the exact follower count, downloads, and the list of items downloaded before entering the game. The external browser doesn’t show any of that, so I really miss having it in‑game.

And about stolen creations, I totally understand how disappointing that is. It has happened to me many times too, but that’s more about user behavior than Canvas itself. :psycat_paw:

I understood you and I think I just confused the matter with extra information because I do like one change to the main menu. But I agree, we need both the profile info and activity feed on the main menu to be restored, along with in-game Canvas use, as soon as possible.

Sorry for my wordiness confusing the matter in my last post.

No worries at all! I’m glad we agree on wanting those features back. Let’s hope the team brings them in again. :psycat_thumbsup: :custom_heart:
