Explicit Uploads

How can we stop people from uploading explicit images of zois to canvas? I’ve tried reporting some of what I’ve seen, but it doesn’t go away. I’ve got kids, and I need to be careful to only use canvas when they aren’t around because of this.

It’s not only canvas but also these explicit ads in the lobby and in the loading screens.
While we can chose when to open canvas, we can’t avoid these ads.
If we had ads like this where I live in RL, there would be quite an uproar to get them removed.
I thought we moved on from this. We should at least have a choice to turn it off.

Imo it’s also quite sexist to exploit barely dressed women (I‘ve never seen a barely dressed man) to try lure players in who might like this content. They won’t even find what they’re looking for ingame anyway and be disappointed, since we don’t see anything that could offend even the prudished ones out there.
They’re clearly measuring with two cups here.

Maybe these ads were also the reason for the ‘sexual content’ tag on steam?
We had a discussion here about this a while ago → here
(And we also talked about these ads but I can’t find that topic ^^’)

I tried to report them too with no luck. It’s not bikinis, it’s that some users are making max boob characters and posing them in sexual maners then taking pictures durectly of their boobs and ass. It’s not even about the outfits.

I completely agree with you, I have tried to report them as well, but to no avail

I put up a post in Wishlit asking to have the option to return to the old Homescreen, but Canvas is still a problem like this example bellow is just one of the lightest

I’m glad they gave us the ability to search for things without mods, but we are still exposed to the mod content on the Lobby screen, all those Canvas loading screens, and often our first visit to Canvas as well.

I was just there on the front page of Canvas. Not only are there a lot of revealing outfits, but also many that are blurred. The automod is sensitive and can be triggered with a bathing suit or something, but the blur is usually removed within the hour. For things to still be blurred on Canvas after that timeframe, there must be a reason.

And I saw a blurred image in the Children category lower on the page! :open_mouth: :grimacing: I don’t even want to know what’s under that blur!

My wishes:

  • Get rid of all Canvas load screens and the display in the lobby.
  • Hide content with mods from the main page of Canvas and individual categories until someone searches for content with mods.
  • Make searching for Without Mods the default instead of All. Make seeing mods a more deliberate action.

I remember a thread long ago asking for these publicities to be removed.
I wish I could upvote this a million times.
And yes to all your ideas.
( PS you should make a copy of this on the wishlist forum )

I don’t have a problem with the explicit uploads since adult content does not bother me I don’t have children, though I DO agree that: NO Modded anything should come up in Canvas it should be seperated for those who want mods in their game or modded anything. I like to keep the game clean. I like it just fine as it is without modded content of any sort.

I don’t care for mods or cheats: the only cheat I ever use is the money cheat since I want my Zoi to have a nice house not a dump.

That is a great idea to NOT show anything modded in Canvas keep that on the other site I think it’s called Connect, where you find the mods and make Cavas vanilla game only with vanilla game poses and remove the ability to upload anything with mods there.

The fact that some are focused on making body parts unrealistic and taking pics of it is stupid and you can’t fix stupid: but if it’s possible in vanilla game I get it. I just don’t want to accidently get anything from Canvas that is modified. For that fact that there is modified things on Canvas: I never get anything from Canvas because I am unsure if it’s Vanilla or not. All of my uploads are vanilla.

I’m going to make a post about hiding modded content until someone actively searches for it. I agree that it’s unnecessary, but so many Sims-game players are addicted to it and weren’t happy with inZOI’s so-called “limited” selections. I think the devs did it to retain as many players at possible at a time when inZOI was getting a lot of flack over lack of player retention.

But I wish they hadn’t done it so early. Mods cause their own bugs, and the players often blame the devs for issues that can be caused by mods (like sudden crashes).

As far as mods, it’s safe to download things from Canvas that state “Official mod not included” (or something similar in other languages) under the Mod Info section of the item’s page, especially if you don’t have mods enabled in your Game Options.

Canvas shows if there are mods on the upload so people can download the required mod, but people need to click the links to go download the mods, then install them. Canvas itself doesn’t host the mods, but just detects which mods are used.

User Created Content like custom textures and 3D-printed items are part of the inZOI game and are safe to download from Canvas. After December 23, all uploads show how many textures are included, and shows a preview if they are public textures.

I think just removing it from Canvas would be awesome. lol. But that’s just me I think mods or even those 3D printed items that jack up too much of the computer memory to have in game are not good either.

EA and all of the Sims franchise is evil and no offense to anyone however: I do wish people would not compare inZOI to Sims it’s NOT that evil money grubbing EA. It’s geared towards the players unlike EA that is only geared towards $$$$$$$ and how they can empty your bank account and limit your fun and never correct bugs.

Plus inZOI is 1,000,000,000 percent better than that company can ever make.

I don’t think Modifications of what is intended to be in the game is necessary Krafton is doing spectacular with what they have created for us all.

A NEW life simulation game not just a carbon copy of the garbage that EA spits out for $$$$

That all sounds quite tedious filtering and sorting through modified and not modified and 3D printed stuff just to find something nice. If it was just not there in with the vanilla stuff it would be good.

:innocent:

I didn’t intend to compare the games at all. I don’t like that other game or support the company that publishes it. I only mentioned it at all because I believe the mod feature was introduced so soon because of players of those games coming over to try out inZOI.

I love being able to express my creativity by creating textures and artwork with AI for my inZOI game. I make custom paintings and all sorts of textures for different uses.

I tried the 3D printer feature and really didn’t like it at all. Nothing I tried came out looking good enough to put in the game. I’ve checked out a lot of them in the furniture section of Canvas. Sometimes the pictures look nice, but I know what it’ll be like when I add it to my game.

Aside from AI textures and images, I prefer the consistent style of official inZOI content. I think the developers create beautiful items, clothing, and hairstyles for us, and they’re always adding more.

I love this game.

P.S. I make YouTube videos and showcase someone’s creation in every episode. I’m happy that I can search for items without mods, and hopefully it’ll improve from there. But I still think it’s worth the effort for me to download something, show it and talk about it, and then go into my folders and delete everything. That’s just me, and I understand your position, but there is a whole lot of great stuff you can find on Canvas. Now that we can search for things that don’t use mods, there’s so much to find and enjoy. I hope you’ll check some things out from time to time.

I’m 100% with you.

Comparisons are inevitable, but the games are very different. Many people become very attached to their game of choice, so any mention, whether good or bad, stirs up feelings.

Also, this is the first real alternative to what EA have been putting out for more than 2 decades. When I see the sims, whether through streaming or screenshots, I remember one of the reasons why I’m not going back. The game looks so basic compared to inZOI. Granted, some people like that look, calling it cute or whatever nice name they want to give it. To me, it’s basic. The game has been around far too long for so little progress.

The issue of the company is what made me uninstall everything related to them.

I hope that Krafton and all other game companies learn that this is not how it’s done. Value your players, respect the community, and give us quality products that are worth the money and time we spend.

Rant over

I get that, I loathe EA :money_mouth_face: I’m sure that is obvious lol.

But yes mods for that were game breaking too, though the game itself is very unstable and the company rude people.

inZOI is the greatest most unique game I’ve seen in a long time and personally I don’t see the similarity at all, sure it’s got the pet people that’s where the similarity ends for me.

I love being able to create many things inZOI and the building is difficult to get used to but so easy when you get the hang of it and know what to look for.

As for the 3D printer I will never use that since I know how much memory it eats of the PC even with tons of memory it takes a large bite.

I won’t download any objects or anything not created by Palette. Since as far as I know they are the only official Krafton creator on Canvas.

I love the style of 80% of the Zoi content the creators and developers at Krafton are so talented.

I have been checking things out but still quite skeptic in bringing anything in game in case it is not just a retextured vanilla piece.

Unfortunate but true, measures are always a thing.

I’ve been watching the game before it was even released in Beta, got it very early but never joined the forums or anything like that since I wanted an unbias opinion in playing it for some time before joining in the conversations. Learn what I like and don’t like about the game, gotta say the don’t like list is way smaller than the like list.

The feeling I get from inZOI is they are gearing it towards older people who enjoy getting lost in a game like this. The evil company is gearing towards elementary school children, Maxis was not like that but EA always was. Each one has been a carbon copy of the last in some ways becoming stagnant over the years.

I had a disagreement with the company where they were 100% at fault and very rude about it. Everyone I know has uninstalled and boycotted everything to do with that company no matter what game it is because of how they treat their loyal gamers.

So far I am loving Krafton and the way they have made the game beautiful and not buggy or crashy, and they really seem to care about feedback and the gamers that love what they do and appreciate all of their hard work and detail.

I had the same experience where they basically tried to steal my money. It was only because I wouldn’t let it go, constantly calling and emailing, that I got my money back.

Kjun said in one of his updates that he’s really glad that they did early release with inZOI as it allowed players to shape the game in tandem with the developers. That players were coming up with ideas that they hadn’t thought of, but wanted to add.

I wonder, would we have gotten ghost and crime play if people hadn’t asked for it? Then there’s the inclusivity, which wasn’t a thing when inZOI first released. Players demanded it, and there it is in the game. This responsiveness is incredible. I didn’t expect it. I don’t want to get attached to this game in the way that die-hard simmers do; we’re all investing in this game by taking part in these discussions.

Also, every player can effectively mod their own items with colours and textures. No two inZOI players will have the same game. This is why I asked @LennyOgg to make a build for me; his builds are so good, I can’t make anything like that.

That’s common with them, I didn’t fight it. Don’t have that kind of patience so they won but will lose in the end.

The early release I was hoping they would do since I thought it was gorgeous just from the into releases.

This game I find very addictive I got my friend into it who was a die hard evil game player, now they have boycotted them too and jumped on the inZOI as well as gifted it to a family member who also boycotted them as soon as they got into inZOI. Both saw inZOI for the beautiful creativity it really is.

I’ve never seen a world look the same with anyone’s inZOI game I’ve seen.

It would be very awesome though if the modified items and 3D items were separated from the retextured/recoloured items. If they do that perhaps I would add the other Canvas items that I’ve liked but been skeptical about putting in.

I guess explicit depends on each person. I don’t find female Zois in swimwear and bedazzled underwear explicit but I know some others might. I think women in general are overly sexualized even when they are just existing and that carries over into video games. Personally I think inZOI’s target audience should be adults and not children so I hope they don’t take a heavy hand on things like with the big heart woohoo.

That being said I absolutely agree with all of @Starwing ‘s wishes. These are completely reasonable and takes into consideration both player types. As the rate of which content is uploaded to canvas increases, the harder moderation becomes. So only uploads with base game assets should be visible by default.

Thank you! I keep forgetting to post that in the Wishlist category. I have mentioned them in the past when we didn’t have a way to search for things without mods, and at least they took that suggestion to heart. There’s a very good chance.

Besides, the dev team does such lovely work with the official content that it should definitely be on display when people arrive at the Canvas site.
