Save Failed - Error Code E0020-0003. HOW CAN I SAVE my GAME???

  • Details:
    When I try to save the game progress, an error appears, “Save Failed - Error Code E0020-0003”. This preservation is very important to me, because I have just finished building a new house. I also can’t save the Property Preset or the Room Preset too in Build Mode.

  • I tried to exit the Build Mode, switch to other families in the city, and save gameplay in other families. But the error does not allow me to save the game progress as before.

  • Is there any way to save either my Property Preset or the Gameplay?

  • Save data in attached Zip-Archive it is more earlier version. After this save I play more then 5 hours and finished building a new house

  • Now I will put the PC into hibernation mode, as I do not want to exit the game. If a solution is not found during the day, the house I was building will be lost

Oh wow, that’s terrible. Do you have Auto Save on currently? If not, turn it on and go into CAZ, then go back out to normal live mode → this should create an Auto Save (which you’ll see as text in the upper center of the screen, just like many other game notifications).

At least that’s the first thing that came to my mind to help you. Hope it works :folded_hands:

Yes, and also if you try not just to save, but “Save as” - does that not work either?

Auto Save option is enabled in the settings, but it’s not work last 5 hours, when I played

Auto Save didn’t save for 5 hours? :thinking: That’s really weird. Unfortunately, I don’t know any other way to save atm =(

Yes, unfortunately, I can’t help with that either. I suspect it might be due to some incompatible mod. Maybe try removing all CC from the lot, and then you might be able to save it?

I didn’t use furniture and rooms from mods. All items in Property are only from the Build Mode (Basic inZOI options). I only use mods from the character clothing category

Then, I guess the only option is to take a lot of detailed screenshots and reconstruct the structure from them later. Unfortunately, I can’t suggest anything else - even if an update that fixes this comes out right now, it would still require completing the game anyway :roll_eyes:

Unfortunately I have not found a solution to this problem. I couldn’t save either the game progress or the completed house. I have quit the game. But before quitting, I maked screenshots of the interior of the house to restore it later.

I removed all mods with clothes for the characters, verified the integrity of the game files. Thanks God, the save file turned out to be undamaged. I loaded the last save. In my last building, there were no objects, furniture and decor on the last upper 2 floors. Thanks God, I don’t need to build the whole house from the beginning. But I forced to rebuild the interior of the last 2 floors again. It’s good that I maked screenshots

I just hope that the developers team will investigate this error and fix it in the future

Try to save regularly during construction now. If suddenly at some point it becomes impossible - this way you’ll be able to find the item causing it. If, of course, it’s the item’s fault.
