[Bug] Save file replaced by old version after update – cannot enter build mode

    Hello,
    Since the latest major update, I have an issue with my save files and the build mode.

    • My save appears in the game with a date of yesterday, but in reality it’s an old save from much earlier.

    • This problem only started after today’s big update.

    • Before the update, everything was working fine.

    • In addition, I can no longer enter build mode (construction mode) at all.

    It looks like the game is either not reading the most recent save correctly, or Steam Cloud / the update replaced it with an older version.

    Has anyone experienced the same problem, and is there a way to fix it or recover the latest save?

I don’t know if it’s exactly the same but I got very confused yesterday when I backupped my save files and took a closer look at the dates.
(But I have no problems with build mode (yet))

I’m in a very similiar predicament.

  1. After updating the game, I can no longer enter Build Mode, either by clicking on the icon on screen or by hitting the keyboard shortcut key.
  2. My entire penthouse/home has reverted back to it’s default. Since I can’t go into Build Mode, I am unable to determine if I can upload my saved file of the extensively remodeled floor plan.
  3. Even if I select not to use the new city update, I am unable to open Build Mode and everything is still reverted back to original.

I would very much like to enjoy the new expansion, but considering I can’t Build and unable to even attempt to recreate the remodeled floor plan I made, I would very much love a fix it or work around, please! Thank you!

My saves just magically double themselves after I played and saved them. :upside_down_face: Then, whenever I delete one of them, they all disappear. :sob: I’ve tried many times, and it’s always the same.
