Ceiling visibility - that’s exactly what I was waiting for, thank you!
About cars: You’ve made significant progress in vehicle physics, it looks much better than a year ago, but I think for a life simulator, convenience and functionality should come first rather than physics. If this were a game like GTA, physics, driving, and all that would be really important, but in a life simulator I’d suggest focusing on these things right now:
- A car should be family property, not owned by a single character
- After a character comes home and gets out of the car, it should automatically be parked at the house (instead of just disappearing).
- It would be cool to add the ability to park on your own property (in a garage or wherever the player places a parking spot) - this would give garages and the garage door that’s already in the game some actual purpose.
- I’d like to be able to play music in the car
- Cars should sometimes break down so you can call a mechanic (and maybe even build an auto shop in the future) or fix the car yourself (I can imagine a Saturday morning when mom is making breakfast for the whole family, dad crawls under the car in the garage to fix it, spends the whole time until lunch tinkering with it, and calls the older son to help - that’s real life)
- And it would be great if someday you could have conversations sitting in a car with another character, and also kiss)
Thank you for your work, I’m really glad you’re refining and improving the game’s existing mechanics and systems! I think this is a good approach to updates - alternating between them. In one update you create completely new content, more interactions and animations, new systems (like the school, for example), and in the next update you polish the existing game functionality! Good luck to the team and patience! I look forward to each of your development recap posts and they brighten my mood ![]()
