Character appearance inconsistency between gameplay and cutscenes. Why does this happen?

In CAZ it looks exactly as it should, perfectly (in this case I wanted to achieve an “old appearance”, wrinkles, etc.).

In gameplay the appearance looks much “younger”. I’m not sure if my graphics card is distorting it this way, or if it’s just a property of the game engine?

Hello!

This most likely happens because of CaZ and Live Mode using different LODS, which is common and probably to help optimization… and also most likely lighting! It could also be related to facial expressions. A neutral face in CAZ can sometimes look quite different from a smiling, talking, or animated face during gameplay, especially when you’re trying to create an older-looking character.

I don’t think it’s your graphics card, though. If it was a GPU issue, I’d expect visual artifacts or missing textures rather than a consistently younger appearance.

The different appearance is due to the game this is perfectly normal.
