Lighting issue

Hello, is it possible to add an option to make my character look as good in gameplay as it does in CAZ?

You probably need to clarify what exactly you don’t like about the appearance of your character in gameplay (compared to CAZ). I don’t see problems with lighting.

If You want make good photo, You can add professional lighting equipment in build mode, and change time of day, to change the Sun position and the angle of lighting

Sorry, maybe it was by bad (not a native english speaker).
My point is that I wanted to tell I would like to make my character look like the CAZ during the gamplay, not just with photos, the difference is huge.

I wanted to point out the lighting because in games like Aion 2 the character looks exactly the same in creator and during gameplay (its using the same engine)

antonio3706 is talking about see how crisp and clean the creator studio is compared to the poor yellow lighting and low graphics in game are (which inZOI’s graphics are reduced to low on all pcs right now)

and I 100% agree with antonio3706 :+1:

I also agree with antonio3706.ag and these issues bugg me ever since I started playing almost 1.000 hours/10 months ago :psycat_upset:

It’s also that the Zois not only look so much worse ingame than in CAZ, but also different.
There is no way to tell how the changes I make in CAZ affect the look of my Zoi ingame.

CAZ vs ingame examples, it shocks me each and every time omg
I spend so much time in CAZ to get them to look how I imagine them and then I bring them ingame . . .

Also the ingame lighting is such a mess, we made so many reports already and it never gets acknowledged thus never fixed -.-

Vlad in CAZ vs lighting indoors when it snows vs yellowish lighting indoors when the snow is gone

English is not my native language either.

Overall, I see many players here are concerned about this issue.

In this case, I will support the discussion to raise it up and make it visible to developers.

But at this step of the game’s development, it seems to me, that there are more serious problems that developers either cannot fix or constantly break something with each new updates.

For example, I’ll remember the well-known GTA V. The “yellow” lighting is very annoying in it. It is not changed by any graphics settings. Moreover, GTA V Legacy was released in 2013, and an improved GTA Enhanced was released in 2025. The game has received Ray Tracing. But the “yellow” graphics remained the same.
I think, that this is not even a problem with the Unreal 5 Engine (GTA maked on RAGE Engine). But a conscious optimization decision, so that the lighting in the game does not overload the PC even more.

For now at inZOI to gameplay with 60 FPS in 1920x1080p we need 6-core CPU, RTX 3070 / RX 6800 XT (Steam’s requirements), 32 GB RAM (real life; Steam’s requirements is lies).

I installed a third-party mod in GTA V that makes the lighting natural (not “yellow“). And you know what? FPS dropped at 3 times! At 3! It’s in game 2013 y (gpu rtx 5060).

Can you imagine what kind of graphics card will pull inZOI with such graphics mods in 1080p? RTX 5090?! :upside_down_face:

I hope that the forum admins won’t ban me for the link. I’ve explored this subject. I found one mod ReShade. It allows to change the color curve manually. I installed it. It takes a long time to figure out the settings. The main thing is to pre-watch the installation guide on YouTube.

It’s called ReShade with Preset “Clearheaven”. Installation guide in the video. The mod itself is in the description of the video.

How to Install to inZOI ReShade + Free Clearhaven Preset

I havn’t tried to meticulously adjust the color curves. Just switched on base ready preset. & I got this result

If you experiment with the color curve settings for a longer time, probably You may get a more perfect picture (in your opinion).

This ReShade a bit increases the load of the GPU. I’ve highlighted GPU loading in monitoring. (remark: I have a 60-hertz monitor and vertical synchronization is enabled, so the GPU is not fully loaded at 99%). I advise You to deactivate all other mods and Mod Kit clothes before installing this ReShade. Install & add another mods after making sure the game doesn’t crash

Instead of Installing ReShade you can adjust monitor colors to cooler tones for inZoi, then adjust them back for everything else you do, because ReShade is only changing the overall tone to cool for you.

I keep my pc running fast by not installing programs to weigh it down :slightly_smiling_face:
