I apologize in advance if this has already been brought up and suggested. But I wish we could type out our own text messages for our zois. The same repetitive messages get dull, and a lot of the time those messages don’t even fit the conversation. For example, if my zoi wakes up in the morning and I want them to text thier bf/gf I’d like the option to send a custom massage. And phone calls as well. There’s doesn’t have to be a pop up all the time, or maybe just one announcing who’s calling your zoi. Then it’s up to you if you want them to answer the call or not.
YES to this! It is really annoying that at times the default replies don’t really match. Also, my Zoi bf asked me like 5 times already “are we more than friends? I am confused”. Like… we had that conversation already! The game “Where Winds Meet” has the option to write conversations with an npc and the AI generates the npc’s reply, reacting to what you said. It is still experimental but something similar in inZoi would be great! It would make it less repetitive and more coherent.
Yes! With small ai like that makes the game even more immersive.
Yes. It’s all very interesting and great, but that’s where it ends (for now)…
Have you thought about how this can be implemented technically? No? And I know how - the answer is: no way.
More precisely, not now.
Now it is technically almost impossible to do this, because first and most importantly, you need to teach the game to understand what you are writing and what you mean so that Zoi understands your message correctly and reacts accordingly.
Secondly, and most importantly, you need to do localization and support in all languages in the game (yes, not everyone knows English)
And no, it’s not limited to small AI. There are two ways of development here:
- Add some kind of online AI (like Deep Seek), train it, and link it to the game. But then InZoi will become dependent on the Internet and its speed will be severely limited.
- Develop, train, and embed your own AI into the game. It will be very long and expensive. InZoi will not be connected to the Internet, but the installation size will increase. The load on the PC will also increase significantly.
The only possible option now that can be implemented without problems is to add a lot of already prepared dialogues and phrases, they just need to be sorted by type and given randomly - that’s all.
It would already be helpful if the replies would match up with the very limited replies we already have. I brought up the game Where Winds Meet (they use LLM with an autotranslate feature), since you can have these type of conversations with npcs there too and while browsing online, inZoi also had a similar kind of idea (at least they used to). While I personally think it would be cool, it would be probably very hardware heavy.
That’s what has me so excited about AI-powered NPCs – the same system could be applied to text messages and phone calls. I hope they haven’t ruled out the idea.
Wow, OMG and here I thought EVERYONE spoke English.
(yes, I know not everyone knows English) Anyway, not sure if you meant to come off sounding so hostile. But totally turned me off from reading the rest of what you had to say. But thank you for your input and your opinions!
This! Because sometimes the text just doesn’t match up to the conversation that was had. It would be cool if they can implement this. Just that little bit helps to add to the immersion for many players.
Yes! Hopefully, but we shall see. We know that everyone is working so very hard on this game, and I’m looking forward to the continue evolution of Inzoi!
To be fair, SmartZoi is also only in english at the moment. And the message function you suggested could also be an optional thing like SmartZoi. I get NIck_Olay’s point, but the Devs can only do so much with language barries (I am not native english speaker myself), so I wouldn’t be surprised if a function like that would also only be in english at first
