When I learned one thing from the Sims, then it’s: backup your game before the update ^^’
I’m going to share in the following how I backup my game,
please comment if there are better/other ways.
- What I already do often in between is removing (delete or copy to another folder)
older save files and screenshots,
so the game folder doesn’t get too bloated.
The backup also takes less place then on my portable hard drive.
- Then I
COPY
(that’s important, you still need your files there to play)
the whole inZOI folder under → Documents to a save place
(this can be a backup folder on your computer, or/and a portable hard drive)
- if something goes wrong or you have to reinstall your game, just copy the whole folder back

Saving Your Game Data Before an Update
When I learned one thing from The Sims, it was this: save your game before an update ^^’
I’ll explain below how I save my game, feel free to comment if there are better/other methods.
What I already do regularly between two sessions is delete (or copy to another folder)
old saves and screenshots, to prevent the game folder from becoming too cluttered.
The backup also takes up less space on my portable hard drive.
Then I COPY (*this is important, you still need your files to play) the entire inZOI folder located in → Documents to a secure location (this can be a backup folder on your computer, and/or a portable hard drive)
If something goes wrong or if you need to reinstall the game, just copy the entire folder back.

Thanks again @LennyOgg
