Do your indoor rooms look overly bright too, or is there a graphics setting for this?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone has found a graphics setting that improves indoor lighting.

I’ve noticed that rooms without any direct light source look unnaturally bright, almost as if they’re glowing on their own. I already changed my graphics settings from High to Ultra, but it didn’t make any difference.

I also have the impression that Ultra now looks more like what High used to look like, only with worse overall image quality.

Has anyone else noticed this, or found a setting that improves it?

That’s odd. So this happens to every room without lights? If you add a light, does the room dim again and only show light from the light source?

I remember people saying lighting spilling through walls and even floors in some case.
Try to remove all lights everywhere and use other style of lights until you find one that does not spill through.

The issue has gotten much worse with the recent changes. Originally, it was about the light leaking through the walls and the rooms self-illuminating. Nothing was done about that bug; instead, they changed the lighting system, making the self-illumination even worse.

Now, on top of the worse self-illumination, this extreme orange is added to it. I can’t even stay in Bliss Bay anymore and already had to move over to Cahaya. I am currently trying to furnish an old mansion with my own custom textures, but I cannot judge them properly at all because the lighting ruins everything. For example, a lighter brown leather glows completely orange indoors.

That is exactly why I opened this thread in the first place, to ask if any player knows a setting to improve this or at least mitigate it a little bit.
