Prom party in high school, not for the faint of heart, and yes, my zoi don’t want to attend it anymore. Let’s start with the invitation—whether it’s a friend or a loved one—I don’t see much difference in how the invited zoi behaves. You just get a phone call that someone has come for you. Okay, my Zoi teleports into the room where the Prom party is taking place, but the “friend” I invited just disappears from sight. They can flirt, dance as a couple or cuddled up with anyone, but not with the one they came with. First reason—these dances are meant for zoi in “mutual interest” status and above. Second reason—the game doesn’t have paired slow dances for other zoi, and it’s frustrating. Why can’t I dance with my friend, girlfriend—or with someone who asks me to dance? What was the point of inviting someone as a “friend” then? And yes, I have an answer—just for show. Now about dancing in general—either you participate in battle dances or you wander all three floors because there’s no room for you on the dance floor. Some zoi even manage to dance in the bathroom—absurd, but there’s no room in the hall. It’s cluttered with tables, by the way no one sits at them, and just as no one eats popcorn or drinks soda, other food isn’t planned in the scenario—but there are tables, lots of tables. And how about you girls in evening dresses trying to do handstands?! And this tedium goes on for four hours, and at the end you get a text from your “lost” friend suggesting you stay to hang out with a fun crowd. If you agree—everyone’s gone home. If you refuse—friendship decreases and your mood is ruined. It inevitably brings to mind Sims 4 with its dance nights and hanging out with friends at the end.
I would really like to get full gameplay as a “friend” because right now friendship in Inzoi is meaningless phone calls and text messages, or a visit from a “friend” to clarify your relationship—scripted, with preset phrases and time restrictions. Sorry, I had to vent. It’s frustrating for teenagers and not just them.
Heya![]()
I never played the prom, but that really does sound super frustrating and halfway bugged with the vanishing friend.
I would go as far as relationships in general right now feel shallow (aside from being married maybe. But that is also a big MAYBE).
Per example, my Zoi has a mutual crush with someone. That crush sent me a message saying something like “Are we more than friends…? I am confused…”. Then I meet up with him, go through the whole shebang of the meeting and we end up being a couple. The relationship status even says “Sweetheart”.
Fast forward 3 days, I get a message from my boyfriend. “Are we more than friends…? I am confused…”. Uhm… Sir… are we living in a parallel universe…?![]()
After going through that meeting AGAIN I receive that same message still… every other day… does he have amnesia??
The reason is that the game doesn’t register being “Sweethearts” (girlfriend/boyfriend) as a proper relationship status. If you click on the Zoi, it even says they are still single.
I took a bit of a detour here and I’m sorry if it’s a bit off-topic, but the gist of it is, I agree. Relationships of any kind (friendship/sweetheart/etc.) right now feel very superficial. I have hopes that they are working on improvements since the team works on better social interactions and fundamentals. Because this really is a much needed improvement.
And it’s okay to rant!
Because this really is frustrating…
Hello. Thank you for your reaction. It seems I didn’t express my thought very clearly. I meant that if a zoi came with me, whether a friend or a loved one, shouldn’t there be at least a little attention from him?! We have something like a life simulator here )) I just wanted to say that in addition to a romantic couple dance, we need a simple slow dance and dances suitable for a prom party, without any battle-dance competitions, and the formal outfit isn’t appropriate for this (guys in suits with ties, girls in evening dresses) so that a zoi who came to the party could invite any other zoi, without romantic interest, for a slow dance. The dance floor should be larger in size because 18-20 teen zois can’t all fit there, there are a lot of unnecessary tables taking up space, and zois shouldn’t be wandering around the building floors all the time. It seems very few people like playing as high school seniors and so it’s not getting attention. For example, in my family I have 2 teen zois, I really enjoy playing as teen high school seniors and so I increased the teen high school senior life period from 15 to 30 days, one is dating a teen boy from the academy, the other’s boyfriend is a friend, a young zoi who recently finished high school, and I would really like to have the ability to invite them to the prom party with me, rather than start another romantic relationship just to “dance.” There’s one more thing: NPC school zois dance autonomously in pairs, but playable ones need to be controlled all the time and forced to dance together, otherwise they act like strangers. I really hope that this time I was able to describe a bit more accurately what’s happening at the prom party.
Aaah okay, thank you. Sorry that I misunderstood. I thought at the end you meant also friendships in general.
But I agree nonetheless. The highschool patch is okay for what it tries to be, but it feels barebones and rushed. A lot of polish is missing. And the prom, that is supposed to be the highlight, seems really bad and not thought out by your description.
What I can confirm is, that my teenage Zoi is in a relationship with another Zoi, but that Zoi is not on the same highschool. And to not be able to go with them is really annoying.
So there really should be an option to go with your friend/best friend and also that that friend sticks with you. But maybe they will improve it once they fix group dynamics in general. Not everyone wants to go as date and still enjoy the prom, especially if our Zoi is in a relationship with someone else.
Sorry for the misunderstanding ![]()
