I quite often encounter a situation where after zooming the camera in on a character, the game displays a hint “Press the Tab key to switch to over-the-shoulder view mode”. And regardless of whether I do this or not, this message can either disappear over time (which happens in about 80% of cases) or remain stuck on the screen.
If this happens — nothing helps. You can zoom the camera in and out, press Tab as many times as you want, switch maps… The message will stay there until you exit to the lobby.
I tried to link this to enabling mods, but it happens in vanilla game too. Of course, you can ignore it, or use the save and exit to menu workaround, but it’s still frustrating because this can happen every 5 minutes or might not happen at all during an entire gaming session — you can never predict it in advance.
Let me know if anyone else experiences this, or is it just my game acting up?

No, it’s not a game freeze — that’s apparently an incorrect translation. The text itself is stuck on the screen, that’s what I meant. It covers the entire frame, and of course it’s difficult to ignore — I have to go back to the lobby, and after that I try not to bring the camera too close to the character so that this hint doesn’t have a reason to appear.
Since this isn’t just my problem — it apparently should be reclassified from the “Questions” category to “Bugs”. But let’s wait for more answers — maybe someone else is experiencing this too and has found some solutions.
I get that pop-up too when I zoom in closely, but so far, it always disappeared after a moment.
But I also have to say that I didn’t play inZOI in a few weeks, so I would need to test it again to see if it is broken for me too. I’ll drop a post here once I test it
Yes, I got that notification so many times by now that I barely notice it anymore xD I agree that it’s most likely a translation issue and should get fixed one day
It’s not a translation issue here. It just doesn’t disappear once it appears.
I mean, once a tooltip shows up — that’s it, you can do anything, including pressing Tab to enter “over-the-shoulder” mode, then switch back to the normal “from above” view — and for the rest of the game session this message will stay on the screen, covering the picture. Until you exit to the lobby and reload the game again

I’ll add this information just in case. Once I used a mod — either for disabling white item outlines or for removing the marker above the head, I don’t remember exactly. The important thing is that the mod required replacing a *.lua file. Well, after replacing it, the problem got significantly worse — if it occurs sporadically now, with the mod it happened almost all the time. After removing the mod and restoring the original file, everything went back to rare occurrences. So it might be worth looking for problems somewhere in the contents of these files.
Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the game right now, so I can’t tell you the exact file name, but if you don’t find the problem in the near future, I’ll try to find that mod and tell you exactly which file was being replaced there.
[UI] “Press TAB to switch view” prompt permanently stuck on screen after using cinematic mode (Hide UI)

Steps to Reproduce:
Select any active Zoi in Live Mode.
Press U to hide the User Interface (Cinematic Mode).
Use the mouse wheel to scroll/zoom in and out directly toward the selected Zoi a few times.
Press U again to unhide the User Interface.
Observed Result:
The “Press TAB to switch view” instructional prompt appears on screen and becomes permanently stuck, persisting through gameplay, character switching, and mode changes.
Expected Result:
The prompt should either remain hidden while UI is toggled off, or cleanly disappear when zooming away or restoring the UI.
I hadn’t noticed the pattern that it’s specifically related to hiding the interface. But at the same time, I really do constantly hide it when taking screenshots, so it’s quite possible that I was doing that before the message appeared. But it could also be that this happens even without hiding — simply when you get close enough once for the tooltip to appear — after that it may or may not disappear when you move the camera away.
