Severe frame drop

Game Version: v0.10.0 (September 3 Update)

Platform: Steam (Windows)

Mods / Smart Zoi: None active

Hardware Specifications & OS: Windows, GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6 series, RAM: 16GB DDR4 (15.9GB usable)

Issue Date: September 4, 2026

Issue Description:

Since the September 3 v0.10.0 update, I have been experiencing severe FPS drops, with the game averaging 3 to 4 FPS. At the same time, RAM usage increases to 94 to 98 percent, using around 14.9 to 15.0 GB out of 15.9 GB during normal gameplay. This was confirmed using both the in game overlay and Windows Task Manager.

The main issue I noticed is that when the stuttering happens, both CPU and GPU usage remain low. CPU usage is around 7 to 13 percent, while GPU usage is around 18 to 54 percent. At the same time, RAM usage is almost completely maxed out. This does not appear to be a normal hardware bottleneck because neither the CPU nor GPU is being heavily used.

With no applications open, my normal Windows RAM usage is around 6.4 GB, or about 40 percent. When I run inZOI, RAM usage increases to around 14.9 to 15.0 GB. This means the game is using roughly 8.5 GB or more on top of the normal Windows memory usage before the FPS drops occur.

Steps Taken:

  1. Cleared the PSO cache as recommended in the official update notice.
  2. Reset all graphics settings to their default values. This included 1080p native resolution, Resolution Scale at 100 percent, Dynamic Resolution turned off, FSR set to Native AA, and VSync turned off.
  3. Tested multiple graphics presets, including Medium, Low, and Ultra. The stuttering continued regardless of the graphics settings.
  4. Closed all background applications and browser tabs. The only additional program running was Steam’s FPS overlay.
  5. Confirmed that the game was running smoothly before the September 3 update and that these issues were not happening before the update.

Conclusion:

Based on the testing, this appears to be a memory related issue introduced with the v0.10.0 update rather than a graphics setting or hardware problem. RAM usage continues to climb toward the system limit while CPU and GPU usage remain relatively low. The game is also responsible for most of the additional RAM usage above my normal Windows baseline.

Screenshots Attached:

The in game overlay showing FPS at 4 and RAM usage at 14.9 out of 15.9 GB during the stuttering.

Which in-game settings are you currently using when it comes to DLSS? A few major updates ago, this setting became very crucial to the game’s overall performance. With v0.10.0 I noticed that DLSS might be rather difficult for maintaining stable FPS, while turning graphics and performance settings to ultra possibly has gained more importance again. Feel free to share screenshots of your in-game settings if you’re uncertain about any of them

I don’t have DLS5. This is my setting.

Can you turn AMD FSR Frame Generation off and try again?

Applying FSR Frame Generation distorts the image and adds ghosting. I have played around with all the settings. none make the fps more than 4 once it reaches gameplay.
