Severe Frame-Rate drop and Stuttering after September Update (RTX 4060 8GB)

  • Game Version: 20260902.14983.W

  • Platform: Steam window

  • Mods: no mods

  • Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (Build 26200)

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor

  • RAM: 16 GB (peaking around 82% utilization during gameplay)

  • GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4060 8GB VRAM

  • Storage: SSD

  • Issue Date: September 3rd Update

  • Details: Following the September update, i’m experiencing lots of stuttering when moving, to the point its just unplayble. Before the update everything worked fine, pereformance was great. I’ve tried lowering settings to the lowest they can be and using the ultra performacne but it doesn’t do anything other than make the graphics look bad. I’ve cleared the pso cache, smart zois turned off, i’ve verified the files on steam . I tried a new save file and its the same issue. I’m not sure if theres some pc settings i could change or is my setup just not good enough to play inzoi now?

Hey there, thanks for reporting this :slightly_smiling_face:

Could you please check the in-game settings and let us know which setting you’re using for DLSS? My first advice would be to turn it down a notch, because lately it tends to cause some FPS drops.

hello, thanks so much for your reply! DLSS is on performance mode, i’ve screenshotted my settings below. i’ve dropped them all to lower than what i normally used before the update but nothing seems to solve the stuttering.

Simply put, with your RTX 4060 you shouldn’t have to run the game on such low settings, but the 16 GB RAM is a major issue here. Do you happen to have the NVIDIA App installed atm?

EDIT: Which other programs are active while you’re playing inZOI usually? Closing unnecessary ones can help reducing RAM shortage in some cases too.

yes i have the app installed and updated to the most recent driver today. I will attach some screenshots of my settings. During gameplay i usually just have chrome open but will try playing with it closed. Thanks

When you click on “optimise” in the NVIDIA App for inZOI, then launch the game (via Steam), are the FPS drops happening more often, less often or approx. the same?

i tried this but there doesn’t seem to be any difference

In the in-game settings, under “performance” (= first category), please check all the RAM-heavy settings about generating other zois in the world. If you tune them down, e.g. people and vehicle density, etc., please check if it makes a difference then

no still not working :frowning:

Is the stuttering still as frequent even after today’s patch?

unfortunately stuttering is still just as bad after the patch
