[09.11.26 ] CanwasTown and Feedback… Please read!

Yes, I agree. It’s made worse by the fact that he might not just phrase things incorrectly, but that actual plans simply change. That is, he was completely confident in what he was saying back then, and a few months later everything had to be reviewed, but at the same time to go around the forum recalling all the old phrasings and promises, and write about changes regarding each of them — naturally, that’s unrealistic.

So all that’s left is to ask again and again for what we want and hope that we’ll be heard if there are enough of us. Regardless of whether developers mention it in their plans or not.

Unfortunately, the fact that we’ve written something somewhere will most likely not actually be read by him directly. At least not here on the forum. You just have to look at Kjun’s activity stats here for the week. He probably won’t even read this message  In fact, this topic will be forgotten tonight, since a new Friday post will be written. A bit later it’ll be unpinned, and it’ll be lost forever in the forum archives. So for now we can just chat here, hope for the best… And then we’ll see what happens.

And then Kjun is surprised that he doesn’t see what the player base wants at a glance. It has nothing to do with intuition, which he said he doesn’t have, but with literally having a team browsing the forum. At least his own Brainstorm:distorted_face:.

That’s right. Or he’s right now complaining about how "I really wanted to surprise them and suddenly release CAW, but they keep whining and demanding it so insistently that out of spite I’m going to drag this out as long as possible! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth: :angry_face_with_horns: "

The biggest plottwist and revenge arc here in this forum xD

Well, I can say with confidence that my long forum posts, like the ones on personality evolution, the memory system, and the bubbly/story progression sat gathering dust here for months. But once I started copying them over to Discord, Kjun began quoting them more and more often, and eventually, it actually made it into the plans/game. Sure, it’s not exactly the same, but at least now I can open the game and see it for real, whereas back then, I could only use my imagination while writing/reading the forum threads.

(UPD: oh, regarding reasoning, the routine planner/chore chart, I also suggested concepts for that, I posted quite a few in Discord. They’ve already added the first one for Smart Zoi), and are going to add the second one too in October.)

Although I used Discord before that too, and over a year ago I became convinced (thanks to the crowd system) that the team definitely reads the posts there.

But in this case, it seems they were genuinely worried about not making it in time for TapTap, and they were likely heading there specifically instead of Gamescom since it’s not just a festival, but a sort of gaming platform. As for more complex mechanics like a customizable city with co-op mode they definitely wouldn’t have managed to get done in time.

lol, at least now they definitely intend to do everything EA tried to do with René –co-op with shared building, Roblox-style elements, they just cleverly swooped in and hijacked yet another niche.

I had a feeling that’s how it was. I even wrote here that “Apparently, that’s why you don’t see people who were actively posting here a year ago — they figured out that there’s no point in writing here and that they need to go to Discord”.

It’s just that I didn’t really understand how everything works there when I tried to do something once — it seemed to me like complete chaos (like most social media these days, with all these “trends”, “feeds”, “recommendations”, “tag systems”, etc., instead of a simple list of actual friends). And since then it’s even been blocked for us, so I’d need a VPN to get access again.

So I’m really glad there are people like you who can figure all this out and convey our actual useful thoughts to the developers.

P.S. If you could somehow get them the contents of this thread — I would be extremely grateful to you!

Because it seems to me really very useful in terms of improving the convenience of interacting with the game. I even made a video afterwards about the problem that exists now, and which this change would allow us to solve — Поведение камеры в игре (с видеодемонстрацией) But I’m afraid no one except users has watched it.

Would you be able to somehow formulate this in a way that would get them to pay attention to this problem and the idea of solving it? That would be great! :innocent:

Why do we write here if what we comment on and debate at times on the forum isn’t taken into account, unlike on Discord?

If that’s actually the case, I’d like to know. It would save me from wasting time commenting here for nothing.

Especially since, on the forum, the fact that it’s linked to our Steam account (if I’m not mistaken) limits the creation of fake accounts. Whereas on Discord, some people sometimes have multiple accounts, which can easily skew things.

And above all, I think that taking the time to register on a forum and participate in it already shows a certain level of commitment. Personally, it’s the first time I’ve done this for a game, simply because I really love this one.

So, if that’s indeed the case and forum discussions or feedback aren’t being taken into account, I’d simply like to know…

I also said that quite often. To me, after being active on this forum for a little while, it seems like this place is literally an exchange between users/players rather than a place the dev team seriously considers a place for feedback, bug reports and ideas.

The first indicator is all the videos Kjun shows us in the Brainstorm here. At the end, everytime he says something like “See you on Discord, when I reply to your comments”, not “See you on Discord AND the forum”. He just copy-pastes it all here.

Of course I don’t expect him to read everything, but an official forum should have the same weight at least as Discord… otherwise, what was the point in making it?

The forum is not linked with Steam. I use a google account for it. So you can also randomly create accounts…

I completely agree.

Ah, I see! When I logged in, I got the impression it was linking me to Steam or Krafton ID… Well, I don’t really know much about that, sorry

Guys, I get that accessing it is a hassle, I have friends in Russia who use workarounds for Discord because that’s where you can actually connect with key team members, whether it’s Kjun’s assistant, the modders, etc. We’ve posted plenty of times there about running surveys for all players directly via the in-game menu, paying attention to the forum, and even the downsides of Discord acting as an echo chamber. But in reality, the only thing they actually acted on was implementing the surveys, the other ones got either very little support or outright backlash, maybe because a segment of the community has already established itself as the “idea leaders”, and they’re reluctant to back anything that might let their own ideas get drowned out by a flood of others. Regardless, believe me, smaller ideas shared on Discord often get implemented almost in real-time. A single person can step in and shift the weight of opinions. Especially if they’re active there regularly - so you could say their time investment pays off.

So, I understand the challenges and I’m willing to take this on, but it risks looking like spam from a single user, or I’d have to be selective about it. Ultimately, guys, it’s just a matter of cold, hard calculation. You might face some temporary or partial inconvenience, but in exchange, you get to directly shape the trends.

Unfortunately, this topic comes up every so often, but in the meantime, the more agile players have shaped things the way they wanted. That doesn’t mean abandoning the forum, you could simply post a summary and a link to the original forum topic.

There’s a certain behavior on Discord where a user adopts others’ opinions instead of expressing their own… basically, if this leads to those people being identified and harassed, it’s a form of brigading. But I’ll try to explain this without using specific links or names.

Last month, I tried to bring up and support SatchOnSims’s position, specifically his view that Discord is an echo chamber, meaning a category of potential or “shadow”/“underground” players might effectively be out of equation. Satch’s original video and CC got a lot of downvotes, though I backed it up with a follow-up post.

I noted that the number of forum posts for a specific brainstorming session had reached 110 by day 3 - roughly the same as on Discord and in the Chinese community (whereas X and YT the devs do check). A Discord regular immediately countered me, arguing that Discord opinions already reflect the broader reality and, supplemented by a few polls, are sufficient. That argument got 30+ upvotes compared to my 4.

So, I’ve stuck my neck out, but it hasn’t really had any effect (aside from getting me warned or blocked).

That’s true, but there’s another aspect here - the language barrier. Yes, I understand English and French (but I can’t say I’m fluent in them), however that won’t allow me to quickly assess the essence of messages the way I do in my native language. That is, I’ll have to carefully read every word each time to understand what it’s about, and avoid duplicating ideas myself.

It’s different here, where we can easily communicate in 15 languages, almost without thinking about misunderstandings, except for the rare translation mishaps  In essence, it turns out that here developers get feedback from us in our native Korean - what could be more convenient?

Anyway, okay, I understand that I’m asking you about something I should be asking the people from Krafton about… But at least I’ve gotten it off my chest, which is better than nothing. Thank you for your answers! :sparkling_heart:

But that’s strange… Threats of bans are not normal. Here on the forum, no one has ever heard of such a thing. Maybe if we were being read, that could also become reality over time? Time will tell. I’ll try one more time to go on Discord and see how everything is organized there…

You’re welcome! I posted some forum feedback from the new brainstorm topic, but it would be good to have discussions that actually steers the team in the right direction regarding the fundamentals. We really want to get the fundamentals right, but we don’t always have the kind of clear reasoning that you provide.
