There is no need for a save file because this is a global game issue.
When I exit inZOI normally through the game, the game itself closes and there is no inZOI process running in Task Manager. However, Steam continues to show the game as running.
Clicking Stop in Steam does not fix it. Steam then shows inZOI as “Stopping,” where it remains indefinitely. The only way I have found to clear it is to completely exit Steam and restart it.
This also causes Steam to continue counting playtime after the game has been closed. I recently had roughly 30 hours added to my playtime because I did not realize Steam still considered inZOI to be running.
This is not related to a particular save. It happens when exiting the game itself.
There are multiple older reports of the same problem on both the Steam forums and the official inZOI forums. The official forum also contains a report stating that this issue was fixed in v0.8.0:
“Fixed an issue where the game remained in a running state even after closing.”
The problem is still occurring in the current version.
