Hardware Specifications & Operating System Not necessary information. The game is simply not closing properly.
Steps to Reproduce: Closing the game
Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred. Instruction: Not necessary
Details:
InZoi is not closing properly after I quit the game⌠it was running for hours last night in the background while my PC was in sleep mode somehow, even though I have a clear memory of closing the game. The game already eats up 65-93% of my PCâs RAM so Iâm terrified that this could have damaged my PC. Please fix this.
Iâve definitely seen evidence of this. After exiting the game, it sometimes says on Steam that the game is still âplayingâ even after a long while. It has to be force closed by exiting all of Steam.
I donât know if it started right after the October update or a hotfix, but the game also takes so much longer until it eventually starts.
Usually, when I double clicked on psycat, the launching screen popped up right away, now it takes 30 seconds (yes, I stopped the time ^^â) and 1 minute and 15 seconds until the Lobby (with manually skipping the intros).
(without mods)
Hardware Specifications & Operating System Not important. Itâs not just happening to me either, others are reporting that the game wonât close properly.
Steps to Reproduce: Press save and quit.
Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.
I donât need a save to show my game isnât quitting.
Details:
I played InZoi last night, and the game did not fully close after saving and quitting. This has now happened multiple times. I thought this was the second time, but I remember now that this happened months ago too. The game âranâ all night and Iâm scared that this could damage my PC. Please fix whatever issue is causing the game not to close. Other people are having the exact same problem.
I ran tests on my setup with the following results:
From clicking âstartâ in Steam â lobby fully functional (auto-skip intro on) = 48 seconds
Clicking in-game on âexitâ â steam being able to restart with green âplayâ button = 11 seconds
The first days / first week after release in March were tougher though. I remember closing times from 1-2 minutes back then. Hasnât happened to me after the first hotfix anymore.
Okay. Sorry for making another post, I was kind of worried the old one would close since it had been about a week since I played InZoi until yesterday, so the issue hasnât occurred again until yesterday,
I hope youâre right. I have a lot of anxiety towards my PCâs safety. I love it so much and Iâd be utterly devastated if something happened to it. Thank you.
nahh the components are made to be used, old graphic cards got used years for mining (the ones they now sell on aliexpress), those often stop working properly anymore, but they were also grinding for bitcoins 24/7 for years, not comparable to the little strain of our own hardware
This happens to me too, but clicking the button to close the game on the Steam launcher usually fixes it. There are times Iâve had to restart my computer for it to close completely, though. Iâve never lost anything by doing that, but always do âSaveâ first, then âSave & Exitâ or âExit.â
For your peace of mind about the RAM and PC thing:
As others have said, your PC is notgoing to break or become seriously damaged by running the game for long hours, and it definitely wonât be damaged by the background processes not closing properly. Modern gaming computers are sturdy and built for this. They can withstand a LOT, including high temperatures and heavy RAM usage.
It is good to give the computer a break and to restart the game after a while so it can release built-up resources to run smoothly again, but your computer will be okay.
There is a saying in the gaming community, âUnused RAM is wasted RAM.â As long as your games arenât crashing due to the RAM maxing out, itâs completely fine and normal, and your computer is using the RAM efficiently to enhance your gameplay as itâs supposed to.
A secret: Your computer and its applications will always use big chunks of RAM because the more RAM you have, the more it will use⌠just because it can. Think of it like seeing a free pot of cash. Youâd probably take as much as you can, even if you donât really âneedâ it.
