Implementing a multiplayer mode in this game is extremely difficult—I’d say practically impossible. Everyone has their own unique set of mods, which simply wouldn’t be compatible with other players who don’t have them.
Everyone has their own private house and plot of land.
However, if the developers ever do manage to implement a multiplayer mode, here is my proposal:
Create an island—a separate map, similar to Kakhaya.
- You wouldn’t be able to buy a plot to build your own house there; in fact, building wouldn’t be allowed at all (except for admins).
- The island would feature only hotels or rental properties.
- Players would flock to the island like tourists to live it up and spend the “Meow” currency they’ve earned.
Create specific mechanics for multi-player interaction: mini-games, competitions, dance floors, and communication tools like in-game phone chat, etc.
Time-speed controls would be disabled in this location.
So, if your character falls asleep, that’s your problem—you’ll have to wait for them to wake up or drink more coffee. And if things get really tough, just fly back home!
This way, a character from the single-player game could interact with other players. As for mods—that’s probably the trickiest part of the whole idea. I would ban mods and stick to the vanilla version of the game. If a player is wearing modded clothing, the game should prompt them to change outfits before connecting to the online mode.
