Black screen in game after launch game

      After launching the game, the shader compilation starts up, and so far, so good.

      After the shaders finish compiling, I get a black screen. I noticed that when I click a key on my keyboard or right-click my mouse, a loading screen appears. After the loading screen finishes, I get another endless black screen (I left it running for 30 minutes, still black screen).

Does this happen ever since or were you able to play before?

I bought it just an hour ago and it’s very frustrating not to be able to play it when I’ve only just acquired it.

Hello, I managed to get the game working by modifying the GameUserSettings.ini file using this path: <…>\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows\

I modified the parameter: bSkipIntroVideo=False by replacing False with True and my game started working. There is a real problem with the intro video, which needs to be addressed because a lot of people are having this issue (Steam discussion).

Great you got it to work!
If the intro causes troubles, you can skip it in the settings

I couldn’t even get to that part of the game when I encountered my problem, I had to go into the file to be able to reach the game menu.

hello! I know this is resolved - wanted to throw out an alt method:

I had this issue since March, but found a reddit post with the following info that has worked for me each time I had to “verify files” (haven’t needed to since new DLC :star_struck::desert_island: )

Essentially, I replace whatever is in this filepath… ….Steam>steamapps>common>inZOI>BlueClient>Content>Movie

…with what I downloaded at link below - 4 blips of video clips.

How I fixed the issue:
Stumbled on a reddit post where someone woke from their eternal slumber and directed me to a zip file with replacement vids to replace the intro video. Bam. Worked like a charm. Reddit - The heart of the internet

Either way - glad it is not happening bc it was FRUSTRATING. I could hear psycat but saw a black screen, lol
