Hey there, welcome to the inZOI forum!
Are you currently using any mods? If so, it’d be a big help if you could try to tell us which ones (if you can remember any names, even parts of them).
Have you already tried to verify the files via Steam? In case you haven’t done this before, here’s a quick guide on how to do it: How to verify your game viles via steam
This official guide for crash issues of any kind could also be useful in your case: Resolving Crash Issues After the Latest Update
Once you’ve tried the steps, please report back if anything changed

Hi.
I delete all mods from folder:
Steam\\steamapps\\common\\inZOI\\BlueClient\\Content\\Paks\\~mods
and cut and relocate all mod (from Mod Kit) from folder:
Documents\\inZOI\\Mods\\88849
After deleting all mods Black screen still appears

Before I delete mods from folder:
Documents\\inZOI\\Mods\\88849
every time after starting game I’ve seen notice:
“some mods are created in the older version of Mod Kit…”
In this notice only 13 old mods.
Total I have 36 mods in folder:
Documents\\inZOI\\Mods\\88849
I cut and relocate all of them.
& Black screen still appears

I need detailed instructions here. I’m a noob in some PC related topics

Point 1. Done. Game Version: v0.5.4 (20260114.9803.W). Steam PC Windows
Point 2. Done. Delete mods on both directories
…
Point 6. Done. I delete all folders in:
Documents\inZOI\GalleryPost
didn’t help. Black screen still appears
…
Point 3. I clear PSO Cache, but in another way. I activated cleaning PSO Cache in Game, in Options
I Quit and restarted game. Game was starting more longer than usually.
Nothing & Black screen still appears

…
Point 3. If I follow these instructions, I can’t find files named “ShaderCache” or “PSO Cache”
In all directories only files named with lots of random numbers
Which of these files or folders should be deleted?
Point 4. I dont have this folders at my inZOI directories

I should clarify that the Mod Kit stopped working exactly after the release of the hotfix v0,5,4 at Jan, 15, 2026. This is the 1st time I’ve encountered a Black screen at starting Mod Kit. Until the version v0,5,3 included there was no problems with Mod Kit (I didn’t had problems at least)

Update (Jan, 17, 2026):
Players on Forum advised to me to wait a bit for it to loading. Mod Kit launch after 1-1,5 minutes waiting. Every time.
But anyway it’s still problem, witch needs a resolve. Before v0,5,4 hotfix Mod Kit launched immediately after click Mods tab

Thank you for reporting back in such detail
With a 1-1,5 minute wait you’re now able to launch Modkit, right? That’s great
If you still want to clear the folders mentioned in the Crash Guide, just in case this might help shorten the loading time, this is how I understand the guide:
Those “random number” files are exactly the shader/PSO cache. The guide says to clear the cache folders. They often don’t contain something literally named “ShaderCache” / “PSO Cache”.
With the game shut down, go into each folder you showed (…\NVIDIA\DXCache, …\PerDriverVersion\DXCache if present, and …\D3DSCache) and delete all files inside (the random-number ones). Windows/NVIDIA will rebuild them on next launch.
Note: clearing shader cache can also remove cache for other games, so the next launch of other games may take longer (they rebuild the cache).
Regarding point 4: the guide means deleting the .ini files (all files ending with .ini) in …\inZOI\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows (Steam install path). If you don’t see that folder, your Steam install path might be different.

Thank you for specifying which files I need to delete to clear the cache. I’ll try

I have the same issue, but there’s a nuance: when you spend about 30 minutes in the game, then exit to the game lobby, and then go to mods, it loads, but for some reason they don’t download, and after about 5 minutes it kicks you to the desktop.

I have 2 questions for you. What country are You from? And how much RAM does your PC have?
I’ve seen many topics with same problems when players confronted with crash the game & kick to the desktop. The most common causes of problems for these players are:
- Slowing down and blocking the Internet
- Lacking RAM (16GB, but inZOI requires 32GB of RAM, system requirements in Steam is incorrect)
