Problem that makes game impossible to play need help

3 days ago the game runs whit no problems at all the next day i start the game and i get a black screen after the first loading screen i can move the maus but thats it no sounds the game dosent crach i attempted everything i found online nothing worked pls help i did had 1 or 2 mods but removed them dont know anymore what ther were

so i did them again looks like i forgot to do step 5 the first time now the intro plays but on the main menu screan whit the cat it stops again i still can move the mause

Since you’re using a NVIDIA graphics card, do you also happen to have the NVIDIA App installed on your device? If so, please go to the graphics section in the app and click on inZOI → then click on the highlighted, green button titled “optimize”. Afterwards, please try to start the game again and let us know how it went :smiley:

Did you make a backup of your save files and try to re-install the game? :thinking: Please be careful though, because you might have to download your own creations from Canvas again afterwards, if you don’t make a backup of them before (I think that’s possible, but not completely sure though).

after re-install it is still the same

Does a previous version of the game (can be installed through the steam game settings) work without crashing? If I remember correctly, some other users had discussed a very similar topic here lately :thinking:

yeah i saw that too and try it now i did try it again and no it doesnt fix it sadly

Did you uninstall and reinstall the driver? ( AMD or NVIDIA )

Since you mentioned that you previously had 1–2 mods installed but aren’t sure which ones, I would double-check that absolutely no mod files remain in either of these locations:

Documents\inZOI\Mods

Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Content\Paks\~mods

If everything there is already empty, I would also try renaming your entire:

Documents\inZOI

folder to something like:

Documents\inZOI_backup

and then launching the game again. This will force inZOI to create a completely fresh set of user files, settings, and cache.

A few additional questions:

  • Does the cat animation continue playing, or does the entire screen freeze?
  • Can you still move the mouse cursor normally?
  • Does Windows show “Not Responding” in Task Manager?
  • Are you using any overlays such as Discord Overlay, GeForce Experience/NVIDIA App, MSI Afterburner, or RivaTuner?

ther are no mod files

renaming the folder dose nothing

the animation where the cat walks to the pc that you can skip works fine after that it freeze

i can move the mouse normally

it dose not show not responding in the task manager

no i dont use overlays

Can I ask, do you use One Drive in your computer? I don’t know what else might be causing the issue
