The Zois in Dowon are starving after this Cahaya update. I played the remaining Martin family yesterday 08/24/25 to help them by feeding & fixing their appliances but they are still hungry. It’s so many Zois passing away from sleep & starvation. The game is not feeding the other Zois in my world. Please help before all the children pass away in the game.

Some NPC Zoi’s in Cahaya also are starving and need to pee badly. All they do is moan. The resale lady and guy in jail are 2 that come to mind.

The starvation bug is back and now in a smaller form and it is random and mainly focused the zoi’s you are not playing.

So what i have observed is this

To trace the bug I think it is easier if you guys play a long term play or play a family generation play.

First step is to have a family.

Allow the oldest child move out when he/she is grown up.

Let them live on their own and tend to that zoi for awhile take a week or two and be that zoi

Within few days you guys will see that the family you left they will starve and won’t take care of themselves at all and before knowing it they will pass on to the next plane of existence.

Step two the long term play

Create a zoi let that zoi educate itself get a job.. travel , meet friends, have flirts but remain single, get hobbies

In the long term play you guys will most likely start seeing things happening in the city, you are going to meet random zoi’s ( not the homeless zoi with the jar i am talking about the others) The townies will be dirty, starving and be rude. The rudeness and the crimes will be the first to show and then the bad hygien and hunger will be the next.

It won’t matter if the bar is set to minimum crimes and violence.

The bug will pop up anyway.

I have noticed their behaviour is slightly better without the smart zoi involved. If you guys check the curseforge you guys will see tiny mods that helps the zoi ‘s behaviour .

The mods removes some of the zoi’s impulses and by removing those impluses the zoi’s are behaving more normal like you would expect. So it seem to me that the impulses are amazingly strong so it rules out the zoi’s normal behaviour.

Looking themselves into the mirror ten million times is one of them.

Today the birthday patch dropped

I haven’t explored what that patch have done to their behaviour but i noticed that the new system updates was there so i am keeping my fingers crossed it has done something good

Oh no I hope this doesn’t continue when I load up with the birthday update. And hopefully the recent update fixed this for you.

I didn’t even know this was a bug and that there was a forum topic about it  .

I play rotatively with several families and twice it has happened to me that upon returning to an inactive family, one of my sims died from hunger and exhaustion, basically everything was in the red. The second time, to save a teenager, I used all the potions, the death animation occurred, the sim disappeared visually but was still performing interactions. After restarting the game, it turned out that they were alive and unlocked, I could play with them normally. Nevertheless, because of the hunger attack, the game took away one of my befriended children in an unplayed family and an entire three-person family died out.

I enjoy turn-based gameplay but this problem makes it frustrating.

I think the simulation in this game goes too far sometimes. NPC needs really shouldn’t fall below 50%. NPC needs should just be locked to avoid situations like this. Even when it’s not the result of a bug It’s so annoying to walk around the city and hear an NPC either moaning and groaning from hunger or stumbling around from a lack of sleep.

Yips i have noticed after the birthday patch that the autonomous behaviour is working better,

The zoi’s are paying more attention to their own needs and wishes instead of doing something out of the blue that is causing them harm.

Those strong impulses that i saw causing problems they are nearly gone and with that i have taken notice they are behaving more zoi like as in tending to their own needs and interests.

I was letting my zoi do her own thing for a bit and there was a delay in between every interaction she did and i liked that, she was not running off to the nearest mirror and was glued to that for the rest of her day like she did before the patch

Now she was infact doing things she wished for on her own and it was a relief.

My zoi was even eating.

I am not sure if it was the system update or something else that has caused this but it’s a step towards a final solution for sure.

I am going to play again today and see how things is today

Yes i agree it’s so sad.

I think they should lean on ( at least consider it again) in opening up all those empty houses/apartments ( the ones we see in the game / the props the fake buildings) for the townies so they can have a place on their own to rest and eat and do whatever.

The buildings could just be for the townies only and rabbit holes is a solution that can be fixed rather quickly.

It’s so sad to see same zoi’s walking up and down the streets every day every night without reason, a blank canvas that cannot even keep up the basic routines.. they sleep on the benches and eat the food from the vending machines until they got no mews left.. or simply glitch out completely…in Cahaya i even built a motel that was free for the townies and it became popular rather fast i had to expand  I had a 14 bed motel in the end and now i am consider in opening up a soup kitchen in Dowon just incase the hunger bug strikes again.

It’s a scary experience if you invest and try to go for a generation play.

It made me tired i mean i lost my entire save

well let’s keep our fingers crossed the patch did something good so let us hope it will continue

Ps I figured i just want to say the bug is still around it just takes a little bit longer that is all before it shows up but it’s the same pattern .. the impulses takes over the zoi’s ordinary fundamental routines.. it took my shy zoi around for a spin … i left her for less then 10 minutes to get tea and when i came back the game had forced her to be over social .. be rude towards strangers..read parents books and stand infront of the mirror and been spamming that for few minutes… she was so down in her shoes .. yes this zoi doesn’t like social connections more then what is needed she is a bit of a lonewolf but the game didn’t read into that .. she was so so sad and so angry and worried beyond means.. all three moddlets was spiking high .. the blue.. the red and the violet :collision:

The game doesn’t read into what kind of personality the zoi’s are having it acts as if everyone is the same and as if they got no wishes or needs… it’s a script without a doubt and it needs to be removed asap or this won’t work it’s killing the zoi’s and i am pretty sure that script isn’t needed…

whew what a day..but i finally found the trigger .. this script is most likely meant to serve as a tutorial for speech , forming connections ( getting friends, enemies and lovers) and reproductions.. and so on but something in that script takes over the zoi’s behaviour and zoi’s doesn’t stand a chance.. i managed to save few zoi’s who were about to collaps of tiredness by tossing out some outdoor furnitures so they could lie down ..

To the dev team.. now you guys got a starting point goodluck o/

i am done..:person_in_bed:

ps mornin..today when i logged in my shy zoi had some really mean requests popping up that the game wanted her to do more then usual so i decided to uninstall InZoi because it was hitting the wrong cord inside of me .. so i so am sorry but..ok going to get a new tissue box.. crappy monday..
