painting cost does not match skill level

  • Details: Zoi’s with skill level 8 and above should not be capable of creating a painting that costs only 36 mews. That logically make no sense. The cost of painting should increase as the skill level increases unless of course the zoi is a painting prodigy

I have a Zoi who is an artist, and I constantly struggle with this one, too. She is max level, and painting is one of her preferences, often features as a wish activity. Still she randomly produces total garbage that is not even worth the cost of the canvas. It is very frustrating when they invest so much time to complete a painting only for this to happen - especially when we can’t see the quality until completion now.

I think this is quite realistic.
Even the greatest artists are not able to ‘produce’ constantly good art.
They have bad days and struggle a lot.

No its not all that realistic. they can struggle but they wouldn’t be able to create art worst than a 5yr old noob because they already have years of experience on line theory etc so its almost second nature to create something of quality even if its not up to the standard they are expected to give at their skill level. 36 mew for a level 8-10 painter’s artwork is ridiculous. I’m not asking for it to always be perfect quality but medium should be the minimum quality of work after a certain level of skill

To be fair, it is balanced with some paintings being worth 1500, 2500 and 3500 base value.
That is before the upmark in price by the Pocket Market app (I’ve sold a painting 6800 mew once).
Having a higher skill also makes painting MUCH faster, it’s very noticeable from skill 8+ in fact.

What other skill in the game is remotely close to those high-end numbers ? I can’t think of anything.
The price to pay (pun intended) to stabilize sell price would be to say, make the minimum (25 x Skill level) in mew, but the maximum of (100 x Skill level), at most.

I’m fine with the way things are, but I feel we’re going to feel the nerf bat hitting the skill soon enough.
It’s just the best money maker in the game as far as skill goes right now.
IMHO

See this I don’t mind. 200 mew minimum is better than 36 mew for a medium painting when you have maxed the skill

i think selling tools is more profitable because if you sell the highest quality of each tool at max on the sales table you get a consistent profit where as its random if you can even paint two great paintings in a row.

I agree, it’s just so frustrating and completely unrealistic…
