I think that’s for Krafton to decide, not us. I’d advocate for a 16+ rating, because all the games with that rating I play fit my vision of gaming standards quite well + inZOI clearly wasn’t meant to be 12+ from the very beginning. But I don’t have access to Krafton’s internal stat data or target groups to claim.
A lower age rating gives it the opportunity to receive government support from South Korea, to appear freely in prime time on Seoul billboards and award ceremonies, to include educational content for its home country.
But many people want to turn inZOI into another game, without allowing inZOI to simply be inZOI, not perfect, not meeting everyone’s expectations, but itself. (ofc one could argue that it’s supposed to patch the gaps in Sims that mods used to patch but it’s not Sims, it’s a standalone product for a wide audience, with the goal of being entertaining as a game.)
And @Moooody is closer to the truth here, I think, accepting the game as it is with what it promised, instead of insisting on something that may never happen.

And here’s something else I’ll say. A high age rating often means outright violence. It doesn’t have to be just about adding sex scenes while leaving out weapons, blood, d***s. In a way, a strict rating can save a game from turning into something like 7 Sins, Manhunt, Postal, Hatred etc. ofc that’s a matter of taste, but I think we should be a bit cautious.

Then the most fitting comment here would be that in Korea the game is already GRAC 15, so it’s only a matter of time before it becomes PEGI 16. But that still doesn’t make it Adult Gaming (18+). For example, Spider-Man was rated T (Teen 13+) by the ESRB and at the same time PEGI 16, but try to figure out why, when it’s basically superhero action with just a few weapon scenes, finishers, and a touch of stronger language. Though ESRB folks considered that acceptable for teen.

I agree . Nobody here wants “Adult +18” gaming anyway. I would never want that either. The maximum acceptable age limit for this game is “PEGI 16”. I am 30 years old too.

Yeah, most of us here are 20–30+, it’s just that when the issue was raised on Discord, Kjun stated it quite clearly:
However, there was divided feedback about a scene where an older child hits their younger sibling. Some felt it reflected real family dynamics, while others were concerned it might be too violent. Thankfully, others understood that it wasn’t meant to be simple violence, especially since the game also includes scenes where parents scold their children.
inZOI aims to portray many aspects of life—both the bright and the dark. That said, the development team is very aware of the concerns about excessive violence and will make decisions carefully.
Kjun has legally aligned it with the rating. But the higher the rating, the fewer the compromises: already at 16+ they can include not only sexual content, alcohol, and drugs, but also harsh combat, accidents, and gunfire with blood. I’m totally fine with it, I’ve been into this since early on. But are those who spoke against much more harmless violence last time prepared? Yes – let’s go and say we want 16+, without further objections.

In the game we go to jail when we hit someone with our car. A court system is coming soon. This is a reason for the +16.

The grey line of underwear could be removed with +16? 
I don’t mean complete nudity, but removing that annoying line that appears even when downloading just the mod of a backless dress.
I know there’s a mod for it, but you have to download it from Nexus and do steps that I have no intention of doing, since regular mods can already cause problems.
As for the rest, I wouldn’t want an +18 either, it’s not the type of game that interests me.

yes, id love a 16+ rating too cuz then life simulator can be actually a life sim and not something close to sims 4 which is clearly aimed for kids and doesn’t involve anything that is actually present in life, its more of a fictional aestethic dream world, which i really dont want in a simulator supposed to simulate life
i dont need a adult-website kinda thing in a game either, but i need realism, consequences and be able to play out any story i could think of, inside the game
imagine a hero vs villain kinda story, if theres no consequences for the actions you do , and not even the actions itself are present, then you cannot be a villain and being a superhero would be useless too cause there’s no need

i think they should make the game 16+ but only allow 16+ stuff (like drugs, violence etc) via a in-game setting, so everyone who wants it can have it, and people who dont want it don’t have to have it either

I completely agree.Even though it’s rated +16, drugs don’t have to be in the game.Most people wouldn’t want that anyway.Most +16 games don’t contain drugs anyway.
In theory, the game may contain any content permitted under GRAC 15. And since in previous brainstorms there were suggestions about customization sliders, but overall they weren’t supported mb due to complexity and the risk of breaking the game (similar to the developer cheats), as well as legal constraints, I doubt this will be implemented. Besides, drugs appear in almost every other 16+ game, and in Sims, if I recall correctly, the mod is among the most popular. So don’t overthink it – there are no guarantees.

I meant it doesn’t have to be officially added. The user is already adding it as a mod. But the addition of violence “official” is of course normal. The +16 tag won’t harm the game. Also, some of the Inzoi players want homeless Zoi characters. 
This game isn’t even suitable for 12-year-olds right now. We adults play inzoi the game the most.

Yeah, it was me in the previous and current brainstorms who proposed homeless‑to‑riches 
I think gameplay would be greatly diversified if Zois were allowed not to have a house in cities or resorts at all, but instead have the option to rent a room in a hostel or hotel, or even be homeless, with “some” problems like sleeping on cardboard, dealing with the police, and finding ways to earn money… it’d also fit perfectly for a “homeless to riches” scenario. I am that kind of person. i’m honored thank you. If what you’ve said happens the game will essentially become +16. Finally romantic kiss animations can be recreated properly. = It might be similar to Sims 3.

Thank you as well) Kinda shocked at how many violations and shady stuff show up in a 12+ game. Probably because there’s no propaganda involved, but the cops sure swing their guns around + crime scene, alcohol, contraband, vagrancy, vandalism…

Agreed.There are no restrictions on adding nudity to Inzoi ( while taking a bath and shower ) . It can be turned on or off in the settings.After all we don’t shower with towels. Also our strappy dresses won’t look ugly anymore. ( For +16 )
