Future Holidays: Do not lock all the Holiday related objects behind events

There was an announcement on discord tonight which confirmed we have to unlock the Halloween objects over and over again for each household.
Which is a bummer for me as a rotational player.

For future events, make this optional or at least give us some holiday related deco objects so we can celebrate right away. And give us more time.
Usually we are quite busy in RL around the holidays, so logging in and playing for a while should be possible without having to spend hours to unlock holiday deco.
The Halloween update dropped only one day before Halloween and this made it impossible for me to participate.

So, for future events, especially for Winterfest, please give us enough time and at least a minimum of objects freely available in build mode without having to play through an event.
And once unlocked, make the objects available for all of our households and saves.

  1. Hello Creators,
In our previous notice regarding the availability of unlockable items from Halloween events, we realized that some parts of our message may have been unclear and caused confusion. We sincerely apologize for this and would like to offer a clearer explanation.

    • Halloween ‘Palet’ Canvas Event Rewards :,

The Halloween Character items obtained through this canvas event are account-based. Once unlocked, they can be used freely across all existing and newly created save files.

    • Halloween ‘Trick or Treat’ In-Game Event : ,

The Halloween Build items obtained from this in-game event are family-based. They can only be used by the family that unlocked them. To access these items in another family or a new game, the event will need to be completed again. We once again apologize for the confusion caused by our previous notice. The inZOI Team remains committed to providing more accurate and detailed information in the future. Thank you, The inZOI Team

Completely agree with this. Luckily they’ve made it fairly easy to unlock all the items by just repeatedly giving the kids candy, but you absolutely should not have to do it separately for each family - or if you do, it should be limited to a few items, with the rest available straight from the build catalogue.

My suggestion for future events: Make the unlockable rewards consumables, rather than build items. An example of this is the mood-changing candies you can find through the treasure hunt in Cahaya. This way it feels like an in-game reward for gameplay, rather than having to jump through hoops to unlock stuff that’s already there.

Since festival items are per family only,

Imagine Christmas time -

You play one family for 1 in-game day and earn a Christmas tree and 20 tree decorations. You spend 30 real minutes decorating the tree.

You switch to family 2 and play for 1 in-game day to earn a Christmas tree and 20 tree decorations. You spend 30 real minutes decorating the tree.

You switch to family 3 and play … you get the idea.

At the end of 10 in-game days, and 4 to 5 real hours of toil you have the city with Christmas trees and decorations in playable households. Hoping that all the time you were playing one family, the other families were good enough to let those decorations alone, and not trash them like all the gift items they do…

So this is happening again?
Not a single deco object available without struggling through events, even though the update is only one day before christmas?

Can anyone plz explain what might be the reason for this?

I get it they want us to play the game and the events, but for those players who are a bit quite busy around christmas, pls give us at least a few objects that are not locked behind (buggy) events so we can celebrate with our Zois.
The halloween event already showed that these events are not as funny and entertaining as intended for some of us :psycat_sad:

The only thing I can say about this is that they’re postponing the calendar, an insanely important feature for a life sim, but according to their words, it should somehow fix this. I hope this will be the last time‑limited event, provided they actually work on the calendar and not on Malicuos Outlaw. OR maybe they won’t make it in time again, and it will end up as Valentine’s Day FOMO. Considering that they still have to fix this update.

Seasonal events like Halloween won’t be time‑limited anymore — once the calendar launches in December, you’ll be able to access all seasonal content permanently.

The event we prepared will run until January 31st, and once the calendar system is completed, we’ll integrate it properly.

Yes, but this all does not save our christmas this year :psycat_sad:

I’ve watched a couple of gameplay preview streams. There are some new objects which aren’t locked to the event, and you also immediately receive 5 parcels for free - each of them containing several decorative items - when you open a game after installing the update. So while I completely agree on not locking stuff behind events, at least they’re making it easy this time. (The patch notes also mentioned that although the Halloween event has ended, you can still get the items by placing a candy bucket for trick-or-treaters.)

I never got that halloween bucket to work so I don’t have much hopes the winter event will run smoothly, I’d rather just go to build mode and start decorating.

The Christmas “Winter Festival Supplies” are locked to in game events again. This is terrible for builders. I want to make beautiful homes, but all the new update items get deleted when I save and reload. Update items need to be fully accessible. Decorating happens BEFORE the holiday, not after.

That’s why the delay in developing the Calendar (especially for minor stuff like business) became an absolutely unacceptable move for me. They sacrificed player comfort in the core gameplay instead of reallocating more resources to the calendar and syncing holiday events with in‑game time.

Some people tried to convince me that this wasn’t the main thing. Yet precisely this “not main” thing triggered another FOMO.
