I found the following in the Known Issues List

  • If you meet the system requirements but still see “Insufficient video memory” error when launching the game, it may be caused by accumulated data such as web cache, mods, or Canvas download files.

    • How to fix

      • Delete the folder: AppData/Local/inZoi/webcache_4430
:spiral_notepad: Tip: Before deleting, check the folder size—it may be useful to know.

      • If you’re using mods, temporarily disable all mods and try launching again.

But i don’t have this folder

Have you tried without mods as suggested? (should you use them)

And are you sure this is the right path because there is no ‘user data’ folder in the path I posted above (and below). Here is another post from the team about how to find it:

Action Guide for Insufficient Video Memory Error

If the issue occurs alongside an ‘Insufficient Video Memory’ error, it may be caused by accumulated data such as web cache.

Please attempt to resolve the issue using the method below.

  1. Open File Explorer: Press Windows Key + E.

  2. Navigate to Path: Copy and paste the following path into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.

    • AppData/Local/inZoi/webcache_4430
  3. Delete Folder: Delete the entire webcache_4430 folder.

Yes, I tried it and it gives the same error and crashes.
This is the only folder that is on this path…

Hi @mr.moth,
Have you tried the steps stated in Resolving Crash Issues After the Latest Update Notice? Try out some of the methods in this notice.

Also, we have an FAQ about ‘Out of Video Memory’ message so we hope this may help:
“What should I do if the game crashes after displaying a “Out of Video Memory” message during shader compilation?”

The webcache_4430 folder is under

C:\Users\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved

@AR_Luna

The post Resolving Crash Issues After the Latest Update step 5 lists an incorrect path for the webcache_4430 folder. The correct path is as above.

Hey, I had the same problem (not sure if you found a fix yet but I found an easy one if it is due to mods) - I went into my documents folder > Inzoi and found loads of red crosses by downloads of mods, I deleted all of them manually until the Inzoi folder shown a green tick by it, restarted the game and it’s working now perfectly  Good luck

  • Game Version: Steam build 20646187

  • Platform: Steam windows

  • Mods: removed

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…):

OS: Windows 11 Version 25H2 (Build 26200.7019)

CPU: Intel Core i5-14400F (10 cores / 16 threads)

GPU: GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB (Driver 581.80 – Game Ready)

RAM: 16 gb DDR5

Storage: 1 TB NVMe SSD

  • Steps to Reproduce:
  • Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred.
    Save Files:
None — the game crashes before creating any save data or config folders (only “User_data” is generated).

  • Details:
I’m experiencing a consistent crash on startup with the error message:

“Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering source.”

The game fails to launch after the optimizing game files screen — I then get a blackscreen where the intro video would usually play, (since I disabled intro with “skip intro settings”). After a while the error message pops up.

I’ve confirmed that my system meets and exceeds the minimum requirements. This appears to be the same issue other RTX 40/50-series 8 GB GPU users are reporting, where Unreal Engine 5 over-allocates VRAM during startup.

    Steps I’ve taken so far:

    • Verified game files through Steam

    • Updated NVIDIA driver to 581.80 Game Ready

    • Updated Windows 11 to Version 25H2 (Build 26200.7019)

    • Cleared all local caches including:

      • %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\DXCache

      • %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\GLCache

      • %LOCALAPPDATA%\D3DSCache

      • %LOCALAPPDATA%\InZoi (User_data + Saved folders)

      • %LOCALAPPDATA%\UnrealEngine\Common\DerivedDataCache

    • Performed cleanup in Safe Mode to bypass CrossDeviceResume file locks

    • Ran Disk Cleanup with DirectX Shader Cache selected

    • Created manual configuration files:

      • GameUserSettings.ini and Engine.ini with reduced VRAM pool (r.Streaming.PoolSize=1024) and windowed 720p mode
    • Used launch options:

      -forcereset

    • Disabled Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling

    • Restarted system and reinstalled the game

Despite these steps, the same “Out of video memory” crash occurs every time. The crash happens instantly, before any loading or graphics initialization.

No save data or gameplay settings are ever created — only a small “User_data” folder appears under %LOCALAPPDATA%\InZoi.

I suspect this may be related to Unreal Engine 5’s memory pool management or a missing fallback for GPUs with 8 GB VRAM.

Thankful for any help!

Update: Still experiencing the ‘Out of video memory’ crash on RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB after the v0.4.0 hotfix. All other patches applied successfully. Please let me know if this is still under GPU-specific investigation! Thanks again!

Update: Additional crash info from Windows Event Viewer:

  • Faulting application name: inZOI-Win64-Shipping.exe, version: 5.4.4.0

  • Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll (Windows Universal C Runtime)

  • Exception code: 0xc0000409 (STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN)

  • Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Binaries\Win64\inZOI-Win64-Shipping.exe

This seems to indicate an internal engine/runtime crash during startup rather than a driver or hardware issue on my side.

The correct path for the webcache_4430 folder is
%AppData%\Local\BlueClient\Saved\webcache_4430

Posts that suggest a fix for the “Insufficient video memory” error incorrectly mention the path to be AppData/Local/inZoi/webcache_4430. Instead, the path should be as above.

I found this in

November Known Issues (Updated 11/11)

there could be other posts.

Hi @AR_Luna

I specifically created a new topic because it is a typo in the forum post. The forum posts need to be corrected, that’s all. In fact it could help players in resolving their issue.

This forum bug post can get lost if it is merged with insufficient video memory posts.

I have already mentioned this point as a reply to one of the insufficient video memory post, so merging the forum bug here is repetition. Instead the forum posts should be fixed at the earliest.

Thanks!

I didn’t have this folder because I didn’t have any saved games

I managed to solve the problem, but only by manually selecting mods in the folder, but I still don’t have the webcache_4430 folder, although I’ve already played and saved, thanks for the help!

I appreciate the idea! Just to clarify, this isn’t related to a web cache issue, the crash happens in Unreal’s DirectX 12 initialization and points to a stack buffer overrun in ucrtbase.dll. I’ve already cleared the NVIDIA DX/GL shader caches and Windows DirectX cache, so the problem seems to be internal to the game or engine.

Hi @ellenbjorkman218,
If the issue still persists, could you try to delete the webcache_4430 folder located in the folder below?

  • C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved

Or could you also try the method explained by @darryannsafiya and @mr.moth?

Thank you all for the detailed information you have provided!
