Why can't I move after doing some actions?

  • Game Version: 20251118.8820.W

  • Platform: (Steam windows / Steam Mac / Mac)

  • Mods: Removed - Mods I used were only for hair and some clothes

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…)

  • Details:
So, what’s happening? Well, now, when I command my zoi to use the computer (principally when she finishes using the computer) or after taking a bath, or after doing ANY ACTIONS, she stops. Literally stops. She does the action and then she keeps there, standing. She keeps having her needs and feelings but I just can’t move her. And even when I try just to command her to do something expecting that she would start walking or at least moving the commands keep there as if ‘waiting’ for her to do an action first when there’s absolutely nothing lol

  • I’m having this problem for a week, I’ve already restarter the computer, closed the game and opened it, went to the lobby and started again but the game hates me bro. Does anyone here have the same problem or it’s just my lagged potato computer that isn’t working?

SORRY FOR THE BAD QUALITY PHOTOS! I MOVED THE TIME BAR AND NEEDS FOR Y’ALL TO SEE THAT THE TIME IS GOING ON BUT SHE AIN’T MOVING LMAO (Y’all can see the bar of command, the ‘sleep command’ is there as if waiting for other action to complete)

(Btw it’s my first post and I’m not English native sry for any mistakes! :D)

While she isn’t moving, do you receive the notification from PsyCat (bottom right, first icon) saying something about “something is wrong with Zois autonomy”? Did you try to reset her from the PsyCat Guide screen?

Bro yes, I tried reseting and rescuing her too. And the ‘Something is wrong with Zois autonomy’ always appeared when this happened. Anyways, I discovered that it was only happening with some families (I tried playing with some NPC families and some had the same bug, others don’t.) So I started other family and until now it’s okay!

Alright, this bug happens in my Cahaya gameplay now too. My Dowon & Bliss Bay saves remain unbothered. I haven’t found any plausible reason for this terrible, unnerving bug yet. I’ll check back as soon as I figured anything out.

Here’s the bugged save file:

I’ve been able to gather some new info about this bug during my gameplay today:

  1. It happens during interactions only → walking around doesn’t cause any stutters or lags
  2. My toddler appears to be the main cause of this issue right now: all interactions work seamlessly, except for handing him the bottle, washing & changing his diaper → possible explanation: all 3 bugged interactions end with a new object appearing (bottle or diaper on the floor next to the toddler); this could potentially be the real issue here (check the following screenshots to see my theory)

First Freeze: Female Zoi interacts with toddler, interaction bar around the action icon fills up completely, then game doesn’t continue → they’re basically stuck in their places for 10-20 seconds real time → game time jumps to +15-30 minutes, controls begin working again

Second Freeze: Male Zoi interacts with toddler only an in-game hour later; interaction bar around the action icon fills up completely, then game stops moving → every zoi is stuck in their place again for 10-20 real time seconds → game time jumps to +15-30 minutes, controls begin working again

So I decided to cue 2 of those toddler care interactions and see what happens
Third Freeze: Male Zoi interacts with toddler only an in-game hour later to feed him; interaction bar around the action icon fills up completely, then game stops moving → every zoi is stuck in their place again for 10-20 real time seconds → milk bottle spawns next to the toddler ->game time jumps to +15-30 minutes, controls begin working again

Fourth Freeze: Male Zoi interacts with toddler only an in-game hour later to clean his body; interaction bar around the action icon fills up completely, then game stops moving → every zoi is stuck in their place again for 10-20 real time seconds → dirty diaper spawns next to the toddler ->game time jumps to +15-30 minutes, controls begin working again

Here’s the evidence screenshot showing that the stuck, completely filled interaction icon has finally disappeared, the diaper has appeared and the zois can now move freely again

Up to this point, this bug has only occured in my Cahaya save file, as I mentioned previously already. It seems to mess with the whole world though. Even if I’m with the Zoi who’s somewhere by the beach and bug is triggered by my other zoi interacting with the toddler at home, everything is stuck in place.

I’ll give you more information once I stumble upon it.

I’ve just finished testing pretty much every possible connection between toddlers and this bug.

Conclusion:

  1. This ONLY happens with toddlers → I tested the newborn stage and it’s bug-free
  2. It ONLY bugs in Cahaya → neither Dowon, nor Bliss Bay are affected
  3. The second it happens, it always bugs the whole household → meaning: actively playing a zoi who isn’t part of the buggy interaction doesn’t help; every zoi in the household does a movement loop (including all the zois visible on the screen at that time) until the game is able to generate the diaper / bottle
  4. It is not caused by any setup related issues since my frames don’t drop at all and I can still move the camera
  5. This bug definitely is related to generating the empty bottle / dirty diaper → once the loop ends, the toddler gets moved to the side quite a bit to make room for the spawning object. You can see this in the following screenshot: the toddler hovers because he was automatically moved onto a toy car nearby to make room to spawn the diaper:

This needs to be looked into asap by the dev team. Players already struggle with some of the major bugs and if this one affects more save files, it’ll definitely put them off even more. Once the bug is there, it happens way too often because toddlers keep asking for diaper changes, feeding even if their needs are very high / full.

OH MY GOD YES! This happened to me too (with my toodler!), thank you for being so kind and helpful!

Bug Update:
The objects causing this loop bug with toddlers aren’t only the dirty diaper and the milk bottle BUT also the trashy newspaper (e.g. from toddler interacting with the trash).
