I’ve been facing a problem since the October update; whenever I speed up gameplay to 3x or higher, my Zoi glitches and refuses to move, staying idle and sometimes even doing idle animations without time progressing or doing their task. I try to slow down the time, but that doesn’t work either. Eventually, my Zoi snaps out of it, but there’s a time skip according to how much time was lost. Sometimes this issue occurs at speeds higher than 1x, but not as frequently. I’ll share the save files via email as the zip is too big.
I tried to reproduce your issue with one of my save files. It took both of my Zois some in-game minutes (3-14) to choose their next action autonomously, this time may vary depending on whether you cancelled their previous action or they didn’t have anything queued. Does it take longer for yours or about the same time? How long is your time skip in-game? If you can specify how that skip appears in your game, I might be able to reproduce it.
That’s a lot of “wasted” time, I understand. While your Zoi isn’t moving, do you have any frame drops, freezes, etc.? In case you have multiple Zois in one household, do the other Zois stop / not perform any action too? Would you mind sharing your specific Hardware Specifications & Operating System?
the frame completely freezes and the only functioning aspect of the game is the game menu (save, load, etc). even with other people in the household, or in public plots, everyone just freezes, as if u pressed pause.
im running the game on low-medium settings on an amd radeon rx 800, which i know is below the minimum stated requirements for the game, but it has been running smoothly ever since the launch of early access even with the cahaya dlc. this is the first bug ive ever encountered in the game. i’m running the game on windows 10
This sounds a lot like a setup issue to me. I own a very good setup and still experienced a few lags every now and then lately.
If you haven’t already, make sure to send your save file and maybe even a dxdiag-file of your system to the devs like you mentioned in the original post. They’ll certainly do everything in their power to improve the game for any kind of setup in the future.
Until they come up with more hotfixes, you may want to doublecheck if there are any settings you might want to lower or shut off for the time being. If you need any help with specific settings, feel free to put screenshots in here or additionally in the Technical Help category. Don’t let the lagging get you down!
P.S. - If you pause the game whenever you enter new areas, probably rather dense ones, it might help.
