Deepening the inzoi simulation

Some ideas that I think could be good for Inzoi:

Inzoi is an amazing game with a wonderful team and I admire you so much for your transparency and for being so good, kind, incredible and brilliant people who are always thinking about what can make this game even better.

One of the things you yourselves have already mentioned is deepening the life simulation within the game. Below I leave some ideas and suggestions that I hope you like and can help make Inzoi an even better game. If you who are reading this support any of these ideas, please like them, so they will know that these suggestions are important to you as well.

Buying your clothes at the store:

The Zoi should only have the clothes you chose in CAS when it was created, and if you want to have more clothes, you will need to go to the clothing store and buy new clothes and add the purchased clothes to your CAS, it could be cool to include clothing mods there as well.

Initial tutorial for players

What is clear to one person is not so clear to another. It would be good to have a simple, clear and quick tutorial so that players learn how to play, teach them how to use shortcuts and get to know things more easily, as I’ve seen happen a few times.

An example was when I saw a girl play and it was about the function of how to rent a boat, which took a long time to figure out how to rent and only at the end did she manage it. There was a way to read it in the written tutorial, but when you’re playing, most people don’t like reading a long text.
Therefore, really adding a simple and quick tutorial, and that doesn’t skip, even though we already know the game, we can learn something new, because it can happen that they skip it and then get lost in what they want to do and don’t know how, which I see happen a lot with the game’s current tutorial. One that has an example of a quick, simple tutorial that we learn by playing is The Sims 2.

Simulation of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2:

The Sims 4 is good in terms of building and creating characters, but in terms of simulation, I prefer The Sims 1 and 2, where the simulation has a wealth of details, many unexpected actions that the sims did autonomously that moved and surprised, sound effects and humor that I only find there.

Some examples:

Example 1: When your sim’s refrigerator was empty and we went to the market to replenish food and if you went to other stores you would buy clothes, magazines, headphones, perfume and we went through the checkout with the product in one hand and with the other we handed over the money.

Example 2: When the child received the report card grade, if the grade was high they came running happily with the report card in hand and if the grade was bad, the child came walking with their head down to hand over the report card.

Example 3: When the parents came home from work, the children would run to hug the parents and welcome them.

Example 4: If we wanted to put our child in a private school, the renowned school, we had to invite them to dinner, show the rooms of the house that should be clean and with good furniture to prove that the sims had the means to put the child in that school and also that in The Sims 2, there was the need for environment and the sims liked or disliked the decoration or if the place was dirty, the need would decrease, going back, in addition to presenting the rooms, we would talk and have a dinner with the director’s favorite dish, Lobster Thermidor, we were discovering by testing a few times what was the director’s favorite dish. With this, points would accumulate from both the conversation, rooms and dinner and should total 90 points and with that your child would be able to go to private school.

Example 5: If you left the child always with low needs not taking care, not cleaning, a social worker (NPC) would arrive who would take the child and remove them from your family, you could try to adopt the child by phone, but it was difficult, they could have been adopted by another family.

Example 6: In The Sims 1, in addition to all the humor, sound effects in interactions, including romantic ones, being positive or negative was great and it has objects and unique interactions that only exist there, the bear rug, but nowadays it wouldn’t need to be, you would lie there, talk to another sim, kiss, like in romantic scenes in front of the fireplace, you could dance inside a cage that was exactly for that purpose to dance and it was hilarious, beach volleyball, there was an ice cream maker who made ice cream for you that you chose and handed it to you in hand, the cake that came out a dancer, or dancer from inside, was hilarious, if you climbed the beanstalk, you would find the giant sleeping, and if you were to select it, it indicated that it was Will Wright, the game’s creator, free fall simulator, I loved putting my sims there, the giant aquarium, where sim entered with diving gear and spent some time there, among so many other things about trips, encounters, model runway, which was very funny if you were an amateur haha, trying to be famous, amusement park. Anyway, The Sims 1 is full of charms, madness, humor and details that I haven’t found in the others.

I think I got carried away with this topic, haha, but I wanted to point out some things that exist in these games. Oh, I also forgot to mention two more things, but that complement each other, the great use of expressive figures/images and animations, that even without knowing the language, we could understand what they wanted to say, for me, they make the difference and make the game even better.

More expressive animations with theater actors:

I believe that by using theater actors, capturing the face, speaking in Zoilish, I’m not sure if that’s what it’s called haha, and the movement at the same time, with those motion capture clothes like those from Rokoko Studio, which I believe you know or even already use and the face with the iPhone with Live Link Face that is already used within the game.

I believe they would deliver more expression and emotion in the animations and the speech of the zois would be more synchronized and consistent with the animation, since the face capture was done at the same time as the animation and we players could capture the emotion and what they want to say better, without resorting much to the use of text.

Reduction/Optimization of dialogue options

I feel that a reduction and optimization of some dialogues could be beneficial for Inzoi. Dialogues that could be in the same category, reduction of very specific dialogues, which end up getting in the way a bit, because it ends up losing a bit of the playfulness, of imagining what they are talking about at that moment, combining some dialogues into the same category and one category just for various types of actions.

Playing recently, to be able to find some options, I felt some difficulty when finding them, due to a vast list of categories and a long list of dialogue options, which are often not used due to the fact that they are too specific and causing some really interesting interactions to be hidden.

The repetition of animations for various subjects that ends up not matching the selected subject, causes it to lose a bit of meaning and breaking immersion.

I would give some examples here but I forgot to write them down as soon as I saw them in the game, if I don’t write here, you can also mention situations that you also experienced or about any other suggestion I wrote here in the post.

Couch interactionsCouch Interactions

Romantic or not, couch interactions should display options when we click directly on the couch and with any person sitting with your zoi.

Example: I placed my zoi and the zoi I want to perform this action with together, so it’s no longer necessary to show the option to choose who I want to have the action with, and I click on the couch and choose for my zoi to give a massage to the zoi sitting next to them. If they have enough relationship level for the action to happen, the action occurs normally, and if they don’t have sufficient relationship level, the zoi sitting with me will reject my zoi, either by pushing them away or just showing with their hand signaling no.

I believe that interactions together on the couch would be more noticeable, we would have more stories to tell and they could even happen autonomously, which would create an unexpected situation and I believe it would be a positive change for the game. Unexpected situations always liven up the game and that’s very good.

Watching TV in Inzoi

Playing recently, I remembered this situation that I forgot about and ended up not mentioning before. When the zoi is watching TV, where they are sitting and not facing the TV, they don’t look at the TV, they don’t even turn their head toward the TV. My zoi was sitting at the table and watching TV, an autonomous action, I only noticed she was watching TV because I saw it in the task list, because she didn’t have much reaction, she was just smiling and sitting still in the chair without looking at the TV. It was a soap opera, which generated a sadness emotion buff, but she was smiling. I thought it was very strange when I saw it and thought it could be better, so I came here to make this suggestion:

Suggestion 1: When our zois, from wherever they are, turn their head toward the TV whether standing or sitting and have more expressive reactions that match the situation of what they’re watching, even if the dominant emotion on our zoi at the moment is joy, while watching the soap opera and getting emotional, that we can see them emotional, whether seeing them cry, or wiping tears or however you think is best, and add more sound effects to emphasize some reactions from the zois, not just while watching TV, or even in the programs that air on TV, but also in other situations, it could be really cool.

Still about watching TV but about other situations that I believe would be good additions:

Suggestion 2: I believe it would be interesting to add more different videos for TV programs and not always the same soap opera or reality show or any other programming.

Suggestion 3: Just as we can put YouTube videos on Billboards/Public Panels, we could have this same option on TVs, it would help a lot the creators who make series or films with inzoi or even us players make our zois watch something specific.

The Return of Cutscenes

I liked the cutscenes that were in the game before, it would be interesting to bring them back in important situations like first kiss, in adolescent or adult zois, marriage proposal, wedding proposal, and the first time of the zoi setting the mood next to the bed.

Setting the Mood Next to the Bed

It would be interesting if they changed the animation a bit, it would be cool when they asked and the other zoi accepted, they went hand in hand, or not, but together and went to the bed, sat together on the bed, gave some kisses and they covered themselves with the sheet, and the entire bed moved, whether giving some movements or bounces and followed the heart animations, not the big one lol

NPC Delivery Person

It would be more immersive and realistic if at least when the zois were at home, a delivery NPC appeared who came by motorcycle or scooter :motor_scooter:, got off and placed the delivery box at the door of the Zoi’s house and not near the mailbox, and if the zoi bought many things, they would deliver about 3, 4 boxes and when the zoi opened them they would have everything they ordered in those boxes.

Censorship When Taking a Shower

When zois take a shower with a towel, I think it’s very strange for them to be in the shower or bathtub completely covered with a towel. It could just be a black bar covering, or pixel squares. I’ll leave here some suggestions and you tell me what you think and if you want to add suggestions too lol. One of them I thought about writing in Zoilish but I realized I’ve never seen anything written in the game’s language, there should be, it would be good

Spiral Staircase

Please add the spiral staircase, there aren’t many reasons other than that I really like this staircase and I miss it in constructions and it looks beautiful in constructions and works very well in small constructions and also.

It wasn’t working for me either but thanks to the translation tool in my browser (Portuguese → English) I was able to. It’s definitely worth reading because the ideas are great and well-written. Hopefully the forum starts translating it anytime soon. Definitely worth the read =)

I agree with the vast majority of them.

I really like the idea of clothing stores being truly functional. It would be very interesting if initially Zoi only had access to clothing pieces placed during its creation in CAZ, and then could buy new pieces in stores to create new looks through the wardrobe in Zoi’s house. Also, it would be very good to have the possibility of having more than one clothing option per category (which could alternate when they get dressed after bathing, and accumulate dirty clothes to wash).

I agree. I’ve felt a bit lost in some situations. But it seems they are already trying to improve this aspect, as several of those times I didn’t know how to do something was in relation to how to fulfill Zois’ wishes, and recently I noticed that there started to be a brief explanation of how to do it. I hope they continue improving this aspect.

Adding this to inZoi would be wonderful! Also, I don’t know if it has changed since the last time I tried to use this feature, but whenever I tried I couldn’t put the cultivated vegetables or caught fish in the refrigerator. I found that quite annoying, so I kept trying again whenever there was a new update, thinking it was a feature that should work, but was malfunctioning.

I confess I didn’t even remember these things… But really, these are events that add a lot to the game, bringing much more realism and “spontaneity” to the behavior of Zois.

As for this aspect, I agree that these funny and somewhat caricatured things were very interesting. However, I’m not sure if this fits with inZoi’s style, which seems to me something more serious and realistic (I could be wrong, but that’s my point of view).

I completely agree with this! Non-verbal language is a very interesting resource for us to understand the “thoughts” of the characters.

I really feel that they still need to improve a lot in terms of facial expressions and movements of Zois, as well as in relation to the synchronization of sound and mouth movement during dialogue moments (this is very bad!).
Another thing I notice and that bothers me a lot is that Zois don’t move according to their own body and even less in relation to the body of other Zois. For example, in physical interactions (which in my view are very few) many times the Zois don’t actually touch. This is very unpleasant for me.

I think interactions end up becoming very repetitive because they are very limited to dialogues and repeat animations a lot. It would be interesting if they were more diversified and showed more naturalness and spontaneity.

Honestly, even the way Zois sit on the couch seems very artificial and rigid to me. It needed to be more natural. They still need to improve a lot in relation to this. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that when they perform seated actions they get up as soon as they finish, even if the next action should be performed with them sitting in the same place (like actions on the computer). Performing multiple actions at the same time is also something that would greatly improve the game.

I completely agree with you. This is yet another situation where the animations are very artificial. They need to improve a lot in relation to this.

I, personally, don’t agree with this specific idea. I didn’t like those scenes. Partly because they had nothing to do with the environment and situation in which they were occurring. But I would really like there to be special animations in situations of first kiss in life, first kiss as a couple, marriage proposal, first time setting the mood next to the bed (both in the zoi’s life and as a couple).

[/quote]I completely agree with you! I find the current animation very dull. It would be great to have a more natural and romantic animation. I also think they could wear underwear or at least sleepwear. Furthermore, it would be great to have other actions that could be done sitting and/or lying in bed, such as reading a book, talking, dating (cuddling, kissing, caressing).

I agree with you! I’ve even talked about this in other posts here on the forum. Some people came to say that they already explained this, that it would be because it would be too explicit without a towel due to the Zois’ bodies being very realistic. But, honestly, I don’t think that justifies it. They could find other much more pleasant alternatives (including your ideas). It just takes the will! I’m in favor of the censorship being more blurred than it is, being pixelated, or any alternative that would just make it less clear.

Spiral staircases would be quite an interesting and welcome addition.

Your ideas and suggestions are really very good and I would love for several of them to be applied to inZoi.

Your suggestions are very good and i liked, i agre too about instead the cutscenes, could have especial animations. About the animations on the couch and the computer,too. You are so right.
