CRITICAL BUG: Zoi authorship can be overwritten by styles and minor edits

  • Game Version: 0.5.0

  • Platform: (Steam windows )

  • Mods: (Choose one: never used )

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version 11 Windows, CPU 8 16 , GPU 10, RAM 32, )

  • Description:

  • There is a critical, systemic issue with the authorship system for Zois and Styles that allows the original creator of a character to be dynamically and incorrectly replaced based on applied styles or even minimal cosmetic changes.

  • As a result, a Zoi’s authorship is not fixed and can be reassigned to another author without creating a new character.

  • Steps to Reproduce:

  • A player selects a Zoi created by Author A.

  • In some cases, certain templates or elements already display Author B, which is inconsistent.

  • The player then applies a Style created by inZOI.

  • After this step, all authorship fields (Zoi, Style, elements) switch to inZOI.

  • The player makes a minimal change, such as:

  • changing a makeup item,

  • changing a hairstyle,

  • or swapping a clothing piece.

  • After this small edit:

  • the Zoi and/or Style author changes to Author C (the creator of the modified element);

  • while the character itself is still essentially the original Zoi by Author A, with only minor adjustments.

  • This results in a situation where:

  • the same Zoi can change authors multiple times;

  • authorship is determined by the last edited asset, not by the original character creator;

  • a Zoi created by Author A can end up being displayed as a Zoi by Author C.

  • Expected behavior:

  • Zoi authorship must be fixed and permanently linked to the original creator.

  • Applying styles or modifying individual assets must never overwrite the Zoi author.

  • Style, clothing, makeup, and hairstyle authorship should be tracked separately, without affecting character authorship.

  • Applying official inZOI styles should not replace the original Zoi author.

  • Actual behavior:

  • Zoi authorship changes dynamically when:

  • applying a style;

  • editing individual cosmetic elements;

  • switching between assets from different creators.

  • Impact / Severity:

  • This is a critical bug because it:

  • breaks the entire authorship system;

  • allows unintentional or intentional misattribution of characters;

  • enables effective “ownership” replacement of other creators’ Zois;

  • makes protection of original characters impossible;

  • undermines trust in the new Style and publishing systems.
