I wonder if it’s the same issue as wall lights, namely that if a lamp isn’t rendered, it also gives no light. In your case there’s an extra lamp visible when you look from the upper floor. It’s not a wall lamp, but I think it effectively doesn’t exist for the game when you look from the lower floor.…

Lighting even changes when I move between stories.
I have a half-story sitting area and this is the situation:
